Samples

First Person:
So... this is, what, day twenty-three of my imprisonment? It sure of hell beats that time bubble with the Ancients. But, it's still being held against my will. You'd think by now I'd be used to this! I mean, I was just captured by Koyla and fed on by a damn Wraith before I got here. Not that Todd is all that bad... still, he's a Wraith. [He sighs and shakes his head, looking around.]

Beyond that, though, this place isn't that bad. I guess. The technology is still pretty backwards and I can't seem to find the damn Stargate. If there is a Gate here. My guess is that it's in orbit around the planet... or, outside the barrier, knowing my luck. No one here has even heard of a Stargate before. Or an Ancestral Ring. That never happens. So, I'm either captured in my head by Replicator nanites... or, I'm dead. I don't really feel dead though.

Third Person:
Sheppard was a logical man. He realized when there were things out of his control and when they were totally in his control. This? It was borderline on both. He was pretty sure that he could find a way out of the barrier. He wasn't Rodney McKay, but he thought he had learned enough tricks by now. Of course most of Rodney's great feats came from technology. That was something they really lacked in the bubble town.

Instead he settled on the basics. Finding a shield generator, for example. In his experience, most of the shields were powered by a Z.P.M. Which, would be really helpful for Atlantis. Finding a Z.P.M., getting people home, and getting back in time for a round or two of golf? That'd be a perfect day for Sheppard. Not that he expected any of those three to happen right away. First he had to find the shield generator. And given that most people had never seen outside of the barrier? That meant it was hidden.

He spent most of his days out in the woods looking for it. Not that it might be in the woods. Possibly in the mountains, or even outside of the shield itself. If that was true? Well, he'd be in trouble. Apart from shooting his P90 at the shield, he had no idea how to break it from the inside. But he wasn't about to stop trying to find a way out. It was possible. He just needed to find out how.

Sheppard turned to reading what ever he could about the town. Not only what people left in that nifty handy guide, but anything else he could get his hands on. Journal entries, those locked posts from those laptops (which he'd have to investigate for himself), anything that might be helpful.

"This is getting ridiculous." He sighed and ran his hands down his face. Another long night reading. "Where the hell is Rodney when you actually need him?"
