Just to inform all those none readers out there, President Bush deemed
LA in an emergency state on Saturday...before the hurricane touched
land. Sunday rolled around and President Bush told the governor that an
immediate evacuation must take place. Governor Blanco (D) refused and
when the hurrican struck, it was not until Wednesday, August 31st,
three days after the storm hit, that Blanco admitted she didn't have
enough security in the city. Granted, President Bush should have come
back from his vacation earlier, but Gov. Blanco refused the help. Plus
it has been proven that the State is in charge of the evacuation of
it's people, if the offer for help is refused what more can a President
do.
Plus the leeves were only supportive up to a Category 3 Hurricane, when
there was money and supplies to support them up to a Category 5.
Again, the Governor and Mayors fault.
"The primary means of hurricane evacuation will be personal vehicles.
School and municipal buses, government-owned vehicles may be used to
provide transportation for individuals who require assistance in
evacuating. But those government vehicles were not used on a large scale
to get people out of town. Instead, Governor Kathleen Blanco (search)
and Mayor Ray Nagin (search) decided to allow New Orleans residents to
stay if they wanted, even though a mandatory evacuation order had been
issued by the mayor about 14 hours before the storm hit." -O'Reiley
Racism can not be a factor in this horrible disaster...the Mayor of NO,
and the Chief of Police for the NOPD are both black! That is huge when
they are the ones controlling the evacuation. No black people are being
forced to leave.
It's always people like Michael Moore and the Hollywood extremist that
always try to point the finger at someone rather than helping the folks
in need. Sean Penn was spotted in LA, for a photo op of course, who the
hell was he going to save with his small boat...that carried his whole
entourage. I know you have money, so why not do something tangible with
it, rather than photo ops, or giving it to the Red Cross who might not
ever give the money. Take people out to dinner, buy them stuff. They
need it more than your uncompassionate souls.
