Every distortion so far Toboe had been trapped in his wolf form, this time it threw him off by trapping him in human form. He was a little glad though, since he had imposable thumbs he could work as a busboy this week and not have to be a look out for monsters. He put on his apron that he wears over his clothes to work and headed out of the apartment.
He cautiously stepped outside, his senses were far more acute than a human's even in this form, but he was still at a disadvantage towards monsters. He then heard Eric scream, and knew it was Eric because he recognized that voice, but his usual scent was replaced with the stench of soil and searing flesh. Toboe knew Eric was in trouble.
He turned the corner to find him burning. His eyes widened at what he saw. "Eric!" He yelled and dove in to start biting through the vines. He may not be able to use his wolf teeth right now but he could still bite harder than humans can.

Out of all of the people he didn't expect to save him, the shifter was one. The tone in his voice was what gave him away, and he grunted as he started to pull free. The vines tried to trap them, but they couldn't seem to go further than the sidewalk that Eric was trying to crawl towards. When he came out of the shadows, the burning grew harsher.
"Just get them off my feet I need... I need to get inside," he whispered with a grunting, painful voice as he pulled himself free. "If I go up in flames here, Pam is going to be very angry..."

"Can you get up the stairs, Eric?" The question asked as Reno's voice went entirely business like, Turk mode on in full force, handling what he saw as an emergency situation the way his training had taught him. He knew that in Eric's room he'd be able to keep him better protected from the sun than he could here in the entry way. "Yell at me for being a dumbass and waking up when I should have been sleeping later, feed and heal first."
He fully expected to get yelled at too, Eric could be rather independent, something Reno had figured out fairly quickly, but at this point Reno's main concern was in keeping Eric from being turned to a pile of ash. He still wasn't sure what would happen if you died here yet, and he didn't want to find out.

Once they got back into the apartment, Toboe want to every window, making sure more sun couldn't get in. "Thanks Reno. I wasn't sure that I could have saved him by myself." After every window was secure, he walked back towards them and sat down. He looked at Eric worriedly. "Why were you burning like that?"

When he finally got inside he sat down, groaning as parts of his body that wasn't completely bared to the sun was crisping beneath his boxers. "Sunlight is my greatest enemy... It's considered a curse for our immortality... we gain the ability to live forever off of the life of others, never to see the sun again..." Growling his head sunk back and he leaned himself up against the wall, crunching again. Sure he was covered in dirt and disgusting, but the crisping skin was beginning to heal. "Blood... now..." he whispered, his fangs appearing again.

"Take whatever you need, yo." he leaned back, letting Eric feed. "Funny thing is, don't human beings in general all live off each other in some manner or another? It's the way of things, even as bad it sucks. And trust me, I know it sucks."

Toboe looked sad for Eric. He leaned in and began licking the burned flesh on Eric's arm. Even if it looked strange in his human form, it was really just his way of trying to help Eric.
He looked at Reno naively. "Human beings can be really cruel, but they can be good sometimes too." Even after all the torment humans have put him through, at the end of the day he liked humans and would defend them.

"Everything can be cruel, my kind especially. Actually... in order of danger it would be... Me, Reno, and then you. Shifters are never really.. violent."
His head touched his nose for a moment, and blood began to drool down from it. "... fuck... I hate daylight..."

"Somehow, I think the closet might be a better idea." the words were wry, slightly teasing. "Better fending off Chico than killer plants bent on making you die, ne? Most Chico will do is molest you in your sleep." Reno had had personal experience with that but. . .he'd rather deal with that than die.
