He had to wonder why he even bothered going into work today. Or this week for that matter; it was one of those weeks afterall. The kind when the sky grew darker, the streets dimmer and even the plants wilted with the beginnings of death. But the scenery was hardly the thing to worry about though, not when the creatures came out - stealthy and quick, their forms blending in with the surrounding darkness until they were a few steps upon an unsuspecting soul.

Being inside sounded good right about now. Or better yet, being inside with Ven and Aqua sounded the best. Terra hummed briefly - hm - at the thought, the edge of his lips twitching upward…and then he promptly shook his head to refocus his attention, trudging along the street a little faster.

Going into work was important despite his passing thoughts - it was his responsibility to be there in case he was needed. Although, he couldn’t help but feel as though he’d be of better use on the street, taking monsters out, rather than waiting inside the fire station for someone to ring about a…fire. Monsters proved to be the bigger threat; he held the title of fireman here but he was still a peacekeeper, right? It would always be his job to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves…right?

He frowned, squinting his eyes a little harder at the foggy, haze beyond his every step - he was thinking too much about all this. This was a different world with different rules and different threats, the monsters weren’t unversed and he wasn’t the peacekeeper that he used to be. Playing hero was still his job description, but his battle was already picked for him. It wasn't his...problem to deal with.

…He just needed to get home and stop worrying about the things he couldn’t control.
