(no subject)
tonight i have made a "clash of the continents" dinner. feeling as if i was in a bit of a bind, iron and protein-wise, i took it upon myself to make a delicious american steak. cooked just until it wasn't mooing, but still bloody enough to scare a first-year med student. it was delicious. matched with a home-made near-eastern recipe of mashed eggplant with vegetables and spices (cumin makes any dish more delicious), and the carb of the day being european mushroom-topped focaccia bread fresh toasted from the oven.
dessert was port-wine poached pears, with a portwine demiglase. omg. so delicious. luckily there are leftovers. perhaps i will take them all for lunch tomorrow at work and force everyone there to recognize my amazing cooking skills.
i'm really entertained by the fact that my aunt decided i needed consoling after "cory meatball" and i "broke up" on facebook. that woman wouldn't see a joke if it was licking her nose. i'm less ok about the whole mike-deal that went down a few months ago.
