How green can you go?
Our Kindred has been looking at solutions to making our camp outs more green, use less resources, and leave the area we camp in cleaner.
One thing we have implemented, and has helped us save money, is that each member brings their own mess kit, we then after meals clean our mess kits, dry them and store them for the next meal. We no longer have bags of trash with paper plates, plastic cups and plastic ware that will not decompose for years in our dumps. We also use rags and dish clothes that can be cleaned over and over again and cut out using paper towels.
One of the biggest, messiest and thought about problems was where in the world were we going to put the loo, the bathroom that is?
Enter the Luggable Loo Portable chemical Toilet , with decomposing bags for our poo. As the Kindred does more and more primitive camping, hauling in our water supply and using the lug a loo's we will be able to camp in those areas were less people camp or want to camp due to the conditions that we are finding suit us very well.
I love the thought of camping and relying on each other to keep us comfortable, clean and well fed. And it has been working out well for us.
