His brain was not only fuzzy because of the alcohol, but also filled with thoughts of family and friends. By the time he realized that he was no longer in the First District, K knew it was too late. He had been tricked quite well, really. Strike when someone is weak; it was the enemy motto, he thought.
The good part about shock is that it had the pleasant effect of helping someone sober up pretty quick, or so the brain thought. K knew that it was only adrenaline. He was not actually sober, and his reflexes would be quite impaired. Nonetheless, he was certainly a lot more aware of his surroundings than he was two seconds ago.
"Good job," he told the stranger. "You really got me good. Judy was right; never trust redheads."
There was one thing certain, however. He would refuse to die. Now he owed the blonde stranger several favors for all the advice. It really was a pity that he hadn't taken the advice. Nonetheless, he was going to find the blonde and pay him back eventually...with something. Hopefully.
With exaggerated slowness, K moved into a fighting stance, lowering his center of weight in hopes that they wouldn't topple him easily. There were many of them, all of them dark and...clicking? That was going to get irritating really fast. On the other hand, he was irritated as it was. That had been really stupid on his part, trusting someone he had just met. And drinking? That wasn't even his style! On the other hand, K supposed that having your world destroyed could cause you to do some stupid things...
He just had to stop doing stupid things soon, or else he might end up killed.
"What do you want?" he asked the redhead, his eyes flickering from one Heartless to another. He could sense the Heartless behind him. He wanted to start shooting them, but he would waste his ammo that way. He had to make sure that each bullet counted, and that would require him to first learn how his foes moved. Anyway, he wanted to hear the redhead's response before doing anything. For some reason, he really hoped that perhaps the redhead had made a mistake, that really he was going to help him...it was part of K's humanity that wished it so desperately. But somehow, he knew he was on his own...
