The Itch [Hollow Bastion -- Closed]

Yes, it was true.

Aladdin, by all rights, probably shouldn’t have gotten involved. It was a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, though by this point he was well-known for ending up in situations that were a bit epic and momentous. It wasn’t to the extreme that Sora had to deal with, but he had a knack for trouble, ever since he was a kid.

As much as he tried to convince himself that it wasn’t his business, the fact was that he’d vested some effort into the problem and now it wouldn’t leave him alone. He was genuinely curious about what had been going on. What was the relationship between Kairi and Kefka? Was the man dangerous? And who had they been hinting to and talking about over his head?

Not his business. Not his business.

It was taking a lot of will power to stop himself from going back and eavesdropping. He really didn’t need to shove himself into the situation any more. He had his own problems to deal with, his own battles to fight…

He somehow managed to restrain himself, but just barely.

Unfortunately, there needed to be some sort of exchange for his good behavior. An eye for an eye. He kept away and pushed the situation from his mind, but he couldn’t be completely unsatisfied. So, considering Jasmine wasn’t around to reprimand him, he decided to indulge his constantly itchy fingers.

It wasn’t really harmful. His plan was to steal a loaf of bread from the kitchens. For old time’s sake, really, and because old habits never die. The food was given to him without payment anyway, but he got a kick out of swiping it without anyone knowing. It was a test of sorts, to make sure he still had the skill for it.

It was a simple job. It required a good amount of barefoot tiptoeing, hiding behind counters, using the sounds of cooking food to his advantage, and then waiting for Marie to turn her head. The kitchen boy running in almost blew his cover, but cramming himself into one of the cabinets momentarily ensured his victory.

With the bread in hand, he gave the entire thing to his monkey, who had been waiting for him outside. Usually any stealing missions that involved Abu tended to be a bit more… flashy, which is why he’d sat out for the stealthy bits.

Feeling a bit better, Aladdin started back to his room. It was an empty bed he was heading towards, but he couldn’t feel too bad after that little event.
