Panic! - Hollow Bastion [COMPLETE]

Oct 30, 2005 01:00

Belle's gummi ship appeared out of warp space and rocketed toward Hollow Bastion as quickly as safe navigation would allow. She had already activated the distress beacon, and she hoped that meant a docking slip would already be clear for her, and that other ships would have fair warning to get out of the way ( Read more... )

Sora had been strolling back to meet Donald and Goofy after his conversation with Aladdin when a harassed looking aid came running up to him. "Keyblade Master!" the man yelled as he approached Sora quickly. For some reason, some people in the castle were uncomfortable just calling him 'Sora'. "Princess Belle's ship has returned! It sounds like something has happened to her world ( ... )

A frantic aid went rushing past her, nearly knocking her off her feet. While still recovering, she was able to right herself and flag him down.

"La--Kairi," he spoke in breathless gasps. "Must... Keyblade Master. Urgent. Princess Belle, docks..." He made a weak gesture down the hall. "Gotta hurry..." With a heave of breath, he lunged forward again, down the halls and out of sight.

It took her several minutes to find the docks, after making some wrong turns. She was winded, a little pale from the attempt to run all the way, but still managed to give Sora a smile as she stopped beside him.

"I heard," she began, but stopped as she saw Belle's ship marry the hatch of the ship to the interface of the dock. The mechanical whirl of locks and air pressurizing sounded and she abandoned all conversation.

As the portal opened Belle caught sight of two people waiting, the Keyblade Master and Kairi. The sight relieved her but also set her mind to overdrive. She bolted through the half-open hatch and addressed the pair.

"Sora, thank God. You're exactly who I need. It's Adam, he's fighting them, they've practically taken over the castle. He sent me to find you. We need everyone, Donald and Goofy, whoever else we can find." The words tumbled out with no room for interruption. Belle turned to Kairi and a similar torrent began.

"Kairi, the Council, you have to tell them, we need troops, whoever they can spare, as soon as possible. Quickly, please, I don't know how long he can last." Panting for breath, Belle finally had to pause, allowing the others a chance to speak.

Sora winced. It was a story he had heard before and one he would hear again, but it was so much worse because it was his friend. He quickly regained control of his emotions.

"The guys should already be on their way. We'll leave as soon as possible. If you get troops to spear send them as backup."

And without another word he headed off towards the Highwind. There was nothing else that needed be said. His friend was in trouble and he was going to help.

All Kairi could do was nod at Belle, reaching out to steady to woman. She was flushed and harried, making Kairi stop to lead her to a bench and sit her down.

"Catch your breath and come to the Council room," she attempted a soothing smile. "Everything's gonna be alright, I'll go get the Council right away." Giving her a brief hug, Kairi dashed down the hallway, snapping up a servant as she went, sending her down one hall to summon the princesses. She didn't know where their rooms where exactly, but she knew where the Council Chambers were, the best she could do was open them up and be ready with what she could to help.

Belle allowed the younger woman to lead her to a seat, but she was far too nervous to stay put. As soon as Kairi was out of sight Belle stood and began to pace around the landing area. She attempted to still both her breathing and her racing thoughts, but only marginally succeeded at either.

The Princess suddenly remembered the mirror packed in her bag. She ran back onto the ship and grabbed it. Of course, she could use the magic mirror to see that her husband was still all right. Then again, it could also confirm her worst fear.

Belle couldn't decide, and the Council would be waiting. She had to get to the chapel now. As soon as she had a moment, she would look in on Adam. With another whispered prayer for his safety, Belle took off down the corridor after Kairi. For the second time that day, she failed to repress her urge to run through the castle.
