It looks like 12 hours had gone by a little faster than he planned.
There was no surprise in the fact that Zack hadn't moved much by the time he returned; this time holding a tray that had several objects that coincided with the task ahead. The wing hid away most of his back, but his outline was still clear enough to decipher in the darkness. Axel vaguely wondered if this would alter his future experiments a little bit since it was a little obvious that he wasn't expecting this. But knowing that he made Zack just a bit more miserable made it all worth it.
Manuevering around the room, Axel set the tray of goodies on the desk nearby; sauntering his way over to the bed and settled himself on the edge with a lethargic drop. Changing the man's bandages wasn't a very hard task, but it was a always more fun when the one being treated reacted either very calmly or very wildly at his presence.
Either way, it would of been more entertaining if he was awake.
But how would he awaken Zack this time? Would he smack him over the head? Dig a hand into one of the bandages and right onto the wound? Or maybe try and cast a spell to keep the latter awake until a Knight in Shining Armor walked in with sleeping pills?
"..." In the end Axel decided to take his gloved hand and examine Zack's wing with careful fingers. They glided across its surface, and he was never once hesitant in pressing up against it to try and get a feel of the powerful, yet healing, bone underneath.
