After introducing River to her room, Xigbar had wandered off in search of something to do. He was still loath to return to his charred room, and therefore had taken a quick detour to one of the libraries before finding his way to one of the gardens.
Now he was reading a book entitled "Weather in Atlantica." Exactly why someone had written a book, and 1,000 page book, about the underwater world, was not something he had really wanted to dwell upon. Of course, from the start, he was fairly certain why it had gotten so long. When an author begins with "First it would be fascinating to begin with what components make water and it's inhabitants," it was sure to take a long time to get to the actual point of the books.
Floating in the air not far away were two other books. One was known as "The Romance of Two Kingdoms," some sort of legend that was really a romance book. Xigbar hoped that perhaps in the end there would be something useful, but he had a feeling that it really was just a romance novel. The other book was "How to Handle Guns." When he had picked up the book, he really was expecting smut, and was quite surprised that it really was about guns. Go figure.
Well, he certainly had nothing better to do right at this minute, so why not read a bit about unimportant things? Thinking, after all, was overrated.
