Strange encounters [Traverse Town; Open to Greed; COMPLETE]

Dec 03, 2006 20:30

The not-so-peaceful streets in the second district of Traverse Town were particularly noisy this day. The dimness of the empty roads did nothing to muffle the noise as Al ran along the cobblestones. It had been a long time since he had moved about without considering the hollow clanking his footsteps tended to make, but he could not bring himself to care.

Ed is here. Ed is here. The words caroled in his mind and he repeated them like a hymn of joy. Finally he and his brother would have their reunion. He would scold Ed for leaving him alone, and his brother would bristle a little, yell at him, then look sheepish, and everything would be fine again. He'd missed Ed so much; more than he missed his almost forgotten body. His brother disappearing had been like a part of him had gone missing, leaving him lost and sad. But not anymore. No matter what, he'd make Ed see that they had to be together. He wouldn't be left behind again, even if he had to do something...drastic.

Nevermind, he thought to himself. That was for later. First he had to find the hangar. He kept the the instructions he'd gotten from the kind strangers he'd just met foremost in his mind as he clanged down the empty streets, heedless of noise and any shadows that might or might not have been there.
