Home Sweet Home-[Forbidden Mountain-Open]

The dark portal brought her to her once humble abode. It was just as she had left it, admittedly with a few more cobwebs, but still it was dark and it was gloomy. It was home. This place would be able to keep her hidden from her enemies until she was strong enough to deal with them as she saw fit. Her body was weak, her death had taken so much out ( Read more... )

Maleficent allowed an odd smirk--the closest thing to a smile-- to grace her features. There was no hiding how pleased she already was with this new minion, but still she could not fully accept him until he had proved himself.

"Do you have any idea what I am?" she asked calmly, she leaned forward slightly as if she was revealing some great secret. She had no intention of allowing him to answer because there was no way that he could possibly understand what she was. "I am the creation of pure hatred. I am the personification of malice and I thrive on fear." she paused for a moment. There was a certain air of pride when she spoke, but that pride soon turned to bitterness, "When that...child thought he destroyed me all those who feared me felt hope. That must be why I am weak now. The fear I require is not there."

Raising her staff, the orb began to glow that familiar green glow. Among that glow images of the Heartless appeared. "In my state of absence the Heartless have become completely chaotic. I want you to go to this world where they have sprung up and inspect it for me. See what they are doing, and find out what you can about the world itself. See if there is anything of use." With another wave of her hand another portal appeared. "It will stay open only until you come back to this place." she said calmly. Her instructions were clear. "And once you've completed this task return here and depending on what information you have we will move forward with our plans. If I am not here when you return you will wait here for me." That smirk of approval appeared on her face once more.

Slade didn't outwardly react to her description of herself. After his deal with a demon like Trigon this seemed almost like a step up... then again that hadn't ended as planned. Still, Slade felt no fear when he stood before he and half-wondered if that was what she wanted from him. However, that was one thing he just couldn't give her.

"Yes, Mistress," he said obediently as he looked at the portal she created and began to walked towards it, pausing only to consider her once more before passing though. Once again he felt no fear, only embraced the sensation of traveling through the darkness. It would be interesting to see where he ended up.
