..And what a pretty little boat it was.
Jack carefully lowered himself onto one of the narrow strips near to the wooden deck; Amazingly the little plank didn’t tip under water. Eyes wide, Jack looked around the surface of the little boat-it was so swabbed and shiny that one could practically see himself in the bow. Unsheathing his rapier, the vrijbuiter tapped the luminous black surface with the pointed end. Twice for good measure. “Isn’t even wood.” Jack observed, putting his sword back to where he’d drawn it. What kind of boat wasn’t made of wood? French boats, last he checked, were made of wood.
The investigation continued quite cautiously given that it was a vessel on the sea. But.. It wasn’t from the sea, now was it. It had come from the air just moments ago. If a captain, such as himself, could get a flying vessel, such as this one, perhaps the nasty sea buggers who were threatening all the ships out to sea could be avoided. To be able to pillage at sea again, without being stuck with prospecting abandoned boats that were left at harbor! Aye, Jack was quite content with that possibility---A sign, even! Why, the Pearl was Black with black sails and this little sloop was black with ...black...fools wood. It fit.
Traversing around the curved around the starboard side, the pirate came upon the rather odd bow next. Instead of being in open air, it was in a little dome all on itself. How was one supposed to get air if they were trapped inside glass? It was probably bloody hot in there. Inquisitive little scallywag clummed up the side and started poking around the top half. There were a lot of dips and crevices up there, after poking around in just the right ones perhaps the bow would open up to the steer cabin.
Jack had a unique way of motivating himself for such unknown undertakings. This one, had a lot of places to poke around in. The curves at the top were just the place for a switch, he began there feeling around for any kind of door trigger. His fingers came across a latch of some sorts. Ah, a way to open the door!
...But he didn’t expect it to open that fast nor that automatic.
With the fast automatic door opening so quickly, it slightly started the pirate. He bolted upright, drew his pistol, and shot one bullet into the door side before realizing that it was opening. Jack stood, staring at the ajar door quite flustered with himself. “..Oh. Well. Problem solved without incident.” The pistol was put back accompanied with a gripe or two.
Now he could poke around inside.
