A while after Riku left, Touma gazed at the various items on the bed. His own bag was packed, ready to go to the landing area and onto the next world. That wasn't the problem

Sephiroth was, somewhat to his own surprise, in a much better mood when he returned to the hotel than he had been when he'd left it, despite the fact that his fortunes really hadn't improved all that much. But he'd found a sane sympathetic ear in Leon, and had just the right quantity of brandy in him to keep him warm without actually making him drunk, and he still had a little bit of munny left for food. He still had no coat and no notes, Zack had still made some frustrating and confusing choices that Sephiroth was obliged to stand by, there was still a hole in the roof of the hotel hallway...but Sephiroth had made an executive decision that he wasn't going to give a damn about those things, at least for a little while. Not until tomorrow, preferably

Touma looked up to see the silver-haired man standing near him asking about his room. "Well, yes and no." That was true enough, though he figured he should give some sort of explanation. "I'm leaving, but the woman I was sharing with left some of her things." To punctuate this point, he lifted the stuffed pillowcase slightly. "She might return, but she might not."
To his credit, Touma didn't react when he finally saw the hole in the hallway's ceiling. It made things a bit cold, but that wasn't his problem anymore.
Sephiroth eyed the door behind the man, considering. Well, 'might or might not return' was still the most promising prospect he'd had yet today, given that his own room might or might not still have a pack of people and an invalid in it. "My own room's been commandeered by an injured man and his friends, so I'm looking for someplace else to sleep," he offered by way of explanation. "If this woman comes back, do you know when that would be?"
Sephiroth sighed. Well, that wasn't a lot of help. "Don't worry about it," he said with a slight shrug. "Frankly, I don't care if I have to put up with complaints if I can get a couple hours' sleep first."
Generally Sephiroth preferred not to sleep in Traverse, not if there was a way to avoid it, but he was tired, slightly buzzed, and had nothing in particular to do. Sleep was the best logical choice under the circumstances.
Touma figured he wasn't much help for the other man - the sigh was telling - but that was all he really knew. It wasn't like he was clairvoyant or something. "I'm dropping her stuff at the desk in case she shows up and bothers you about it. And sleep well."
Sephiroth nodded to the younger man. Hopefully the woman wouldn't come back at all...but then again, if she'd left her things behind as the man said, that didn't seem too likely. Well, hopefully she just wouldn't come back before Sephiroth had gotten some sleep and vacated the room again. "Thanks," he said with a nod in return, moving past the man and into the blessedly empty room, shutting the door behind him.
