I got a new Ipod today and I'm stoked. I sold my old laptop computer and I'm going to sell my old Ipod (if anyone is interested), so while I am paying for it obviously, it is being paid for out of new capital. One thing that I'm not a huge fan of is that it is powered by USB port only, not firewire. This is great if you have a USB 2.0 port; however, my powerbook only has firewire and USB 1.1. So, it's taking quite a long time to upload all of my songs. I imagine though that after everything is uploaded, it won't take too long to upload a few songs each time I connect.
I forgot to mention this, but I got the 30gb Ipod video. While uploading songs, I'm also converting a movie of mine to a format that can be played on the Ipod. I'm looking forward to being able to use this, and perhaps watch a movie or tv show (from TiVo) everytime I go work out--it will make it a little more enjoyable!
I also bought an AV cable connector, so I'm assuming that I will be able to watch videos from my Ipod on TVs wherever I go--which will be nice if visiting family, etc.
I wasn't going to get one today, as I was in the bookstore yesterday and they were all out of the 30gb model and said the white model wouldn't be in until at least next week and the black model wouldn't be in for 2-3 more weeks. So, when I walked in this morning and saw about 30 of each, I was a little shocked. Oh well, that's university business for you.
