He swore again as he checked the clip from the loaned rifle. Eliot Spencer leaned against the cave wall behind him, grateful that the unexpected sandstorm had stopped his pursuers for the time being, though he could do without the crystalline particles getting into his own belongings. Thankfully the cave sheltered him and he disassembled the gun for the third time in as many hours, wiping off each part carefully and fitting it back together with practiced ease. Just because Eliot Spencer didn't like using guns didn't mean he didn't know how they worked - the years in the ragtag Special Forces team had assured him of that much. He wiped away sweat with a bandanna from his pocket, listening to the wind howl. This temporary job couldn't be over soon enough and he would be glad to give the weapon back to his contracted employer when he reached Faisalabad.
