I came out with around the same amount of words as 2015. :3;; Still aiming for that ever elusive 150,000 words!

Goodbyes and Hellos (oneshot) (Legend of Sun Knight, 7119 words)
I started out with quite a long oneshot, which should have boded well for 2016? But nah, I'd spent months writing this 7k fic. It was grueling and not easy writing at all. But the result was something I liked, and I was glad to be able to see it to the end. This story bridges the years between A Slice of Wedding Cake and My Very Own Creature of Darkness, and it includes a lot of Kiyu and my head canon for post retirement life in regards to this fic verse. It provides some background to the next part of My Very Own Creature of Darkness, which is why I needed to write it first. Though I've yet to continue My Very Own Creature of Darkness, oops. There's just another arc or so left to that story! Also, while writing Goodbyes and Hellos, another story popped up that I still have hopes to finish. It'll be called 38th Knight Street, and it's yet another oneshot set between A Slice of Wedding Cake and My Very Own Creature of Darkness. It deals with retirement life~.

Follow the Sign Part 5: Belief (Legend of Sun Knight, 1205 words)
Coming Home (oneshot) (Legend of Sun Knight, 4755 words)
I've outlined where Adair will be going for each letter of the alphabet for Follow the Sign. So many different worlds and characters! I hope to finish A Vice-Captain's Tale this year, and then maybe my next focus will be Follow the Sign. There were some series I wanted Adair to visit that hadn't been translated into English, but by now, they have, hahaha.
Coming Home resulted because Goodbyes and Hellos was too serious and depressing. I personally like this story a lot because it flowed very easily. It's always such a great feeling not to have to fight the story. :3; Writing from Grisia's POV again was a lot of fun. I should do it more. I also really enjoy epilogues to stories, and this was pretty much my epilogue to LSK, with Grisia returning home. Well, the happier epilogue. Goodbyes and Hellos can be considered one too. XD
I completely did not finish writing anything in March and April. I will forever deem these months the terrible job searching months.

No Sweeter Words -re- (oneshot) (Legend of Sun Knight, 2854 words)
Out the Window Part 1 (Legend of Sun Knight, 1167 words)
Out the Window Part 2 (Legend of Sun Knight, 1417 words)
Out the Window Part 3 (Legend of Sun Knight, 1483 words)
No Sweeter Words was written for Blueberry Pie Day. How could I not celebrate that day again with a sequel? I really enjoyed paralleling the original oneshot here, but with both Roland and Grisia grown up now. It's a piece full of nostalgia. With April on the horizon again, maybe I'll write another sequel... I do have one swimming around in my head, but it's not quite as sweet a story as the first two, which doesn't seem to completely fit with the tone of the fics. I'll have to think about it some more. :3
I started a new longfic! Ahhhh! I've actually been writing Out the Window in my notebook, and it's more of an experiment with plotting to see if scene lists help with organizing and tracking writing. So, OtW is one of my few fics that is plotted from start to end. I'm not really sure it is helping with my fic output though. XD The plan is for the story to be around 36 parts. With my current rate of writing, it's going to be a tough journey. :') Out the Window will eventually flesh out the events in v8 that were skipped over, namely, how the Twelve Holy Knights "defeat" the Demon King. I'm hoping to tie some loose ends, like what happened to Awaitsun, Taylen, and such.
I don't even know what happened with June. XD
July
Out the Window Part 4 (Legend of Sun Knight, 1631 words)
POV change! I kind of regret plotting the story this way, as Grisia's POV is much easier to write, and I'm going to have a difficult time making everyone feel distinct. OTL But Ecilan is a sweetheart, and I am glad to write his POV. This part did make me realize that all the POV changes will mean that we won't get as intimate a story as Bittersweet Sweetness here. Really too bad... Anyway, each character will get 3 parts to tell their story. The order will be apparent soon.
August
Out the Window Part 5 (Legend of Sun Knight, 1735 words)
A Vice Captain's Tale Suggestion #9: Prepare Small Gifts (Legend of Sun Knight, 2703 words)
I continue slowly updating Out the Window. I'm handwriting the majority of this fic and then typing it up. It's made for a different experience~. I feel a bit more comfortable with Ecilan's POV this second time around, and introducing Adair is always fun. One more part to Ecilan's POV, and then we'll be heading on over to the next character.
A Vice-Captain's Tale! We are so close to the end. So, so close. I am so going to finish this story this year. :P I've had a difficult time imagining Earth's vice-captain. In the end, he was a bit timid and eager to please. He was originally going to play mediator and be very good at it, but he ended up giving gifts instead. He really likes small gifts. We have two vice-captains left to meet, and then finaaally, the finale. XD The best left for last, haha. Vidar and Adair's turns soon~~. I modeled A Vice-Captain's Tale's structure after the LSK novels, so there's going to be an extra chapter after the finale as well, and small outtakes. Look forward to it! o/
Let us not talk about September and October. That's when I started my new job. :P
November
A Poor Imitation (oneshot) (Legend of Sun Knight, 5640 words)
So, I had a plunny where I wanted Dragon's Saint Brigandine to talk with Roland's shirt. To get around to that, I ended up writing this 5k story that was pretty the entirety of LSK from DSB's POV. AND YET THEY DON'T EVEN REALLY TALK TO EACH OTHER. But I did end up liking DSB even more than before. Such a great shirt. DSB is the best~. It was also great revisiting LSK and all of DSB's scenes. DSB was really prominent in the story, all the way until V6.
December
Improvements Imminent (oneshot) (Legend of Sun Knight, 1894 words)
Blood Red Dawn (oneshot) (Akatsuki no Yona, 3536 words)
I've basically been calling "Improvements Imminent" as that haircutting fic. It's a story that's been lying around in my WIPs for much too long. I'm glad I finally finished it. XD It's a cute little story where nothing much happens, but we do get some interaction between Grisia and Neo. I'd originally written it for Father's Day, so the themes of family and father-son bonds do crop up in the story. Quite blatantly too, like what happened in The View Through the Window. XD;;;;
Gasp! A fic that's not LSK! I got back into participating in Yuletide, which I'm glad I did. I don't feel quite as excited about Yuletide as I used to feel, but it's still a lot of fun receiving gift stories and giving them. I used to read a bunch of Yuletide stories outside of my gifts, but this year, I only read my gifts and some of the stories in the same fandom I wrote. I still stalked Yuletide though, and shook my gifts. :') Blood Red Dawn is a bit of an odd story. It's gone through many different versions to end up as this particular story. There were many different ways I could have taken the story, but ultimately, I needed the story not to balloon too outrageously given the amount of time I had available for writing, so this was the result. After writing the story, I had a dream that I was stuck in a time loop, haha. (And somehow was shrunk as a kid, though that part wasn't completely related to being stuck in a time loop). Eventually, one of the bad loops played out to the end.
Total number of stories: 6 oneshots, 1 longfic started, 2 old stories updated. Yikes, 2016 was not a good year with updates to old stories.
Total word count: 35,638 words. Ended up being around the same amount of words as 2015, but with fewer updates to old fics. I wrote longer oneshots.
Fandoms written in: Legend of Sun Knight. Akatsuki no Yona.
Leitmotif(s) of the year: Epilogues and endings.
Favorite fic:
Coming Home. It was easy to write. XD;
Best fic:
Goodbyes and Hellos felt the most rewarding to finish.
Most popular fic: Probably
Goodbyes and Hellos.
Most underappreciated fic:
Improvements Imminent.
Favorite first lines:
Once, I had been great.
-A Poor Imitation
Most fun fic: I think the fic that had more humor was
Improvements Imminent. It's really lighthearted. XD
Sexiest fic: None.
Fic that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
A Poor Imitation, definitely. Now I know the shirt very well, haha.
New pairing/genre/fandom you never predicted writing in January: Writing from Dragon's Saint Brigandine's POV.
Hardest fic to write:
Blood Red Dawn. It's been a long time since I've written anything but LSK, and I'm so used to writing 1st person now. If not for the deadline, I wouldn't have been able to finish the story.
Biggest disappointment: Not updating my other fics more. (Only 2 updates??? This is dire...) I've been plotting further, so at least I have notes, if not finished chapters. :')
Biggest surprise: Writing
A Poor Imitation.
Most telling fic:
Out the Window.
What's next? Well, I said last year that I wanted to participate in Yuletide, and I did! So yay for that part. I didn't manage the rest, but I shall attempt again to reach the elusive 150k and write at least one thing each month. Those depressing month long blanks are just depressing! I've been mostly trying to stick to oneshots since at least I finish those, but more updates to WIPs would be great.
