Creators for Parallels have now been revealed. It's no surprise (or well, not a big surprise?) that I wrote so we can get to know you, an LSK fic. :'D
I got matched with kiyutsuna! XD;; When I got my assignment, I was pretty amused... since, like I thought, it was very easy for us to end up assigned to each other. What I didn't expect was that I'd end up writing a 10 chapter fic???? 15k words???? I only actually finished 4 chapters by the Aug 1 deadline, and then on August 11, I finished another 5 chapters, and I didn't post the final chapter until Aug 14... :'D But I made it before fics were revealed! Haha, I had a hard time not revealing anything. To avoid talking about my fic, I just... ended up not speaking about Parallels much at all. XD;

With names left in. Wow, I didn't think I typed "Sun" THAT much. "Grisia" is also in there. XD;; (Grisia, you're not even the main character of this fic????) I mostly had Roland call him "Sun" though. Judgment, Leaf, Blaze, and Cloud were the other important characters! Well, I'd say, Cloud and Leaf more than the others, actually. I was glad I got to write a lot about Cloud's experiences. Stone's name is so tiny... :'D;;; Roland's name isn't all that big since he's the narrator and was mostly just using "I". XD;
With names removed! Did I really use "one" that much.... adkjfa;sdjf;sa WHERE. Hahaha, all the uses of "back", "face", "eyes", "hand", "head"... all these mentions of body parts, hahaha. "Know" is also quite big, like I expected. "Clothes"! (Because... what happens to clothes when someone shrinks...) "Paperwork". What is LSK fic without mention of Storm and his paperwork. XD;;
Kiyutsuna's prompt was "After a mission gone wrong/ mishap with magic. One of the Twelve Holy Knights got turned into a ______ (ex. Toddler, animal... Etc) Something fluffy and funny please!" Somehow, I ended up writing not one, but eleven knights getting deaged at random times, with only Roland unaffected. (What was I thinking?) I regret how the fic isn't as fluffy and funny as I hoped it to be (perhaps I should have started the fic off with Tyler's reaction to finding a bunch of kids hanging off of Roland! Unfortunately, events ended up going a different way), but I hope some parts did come off as fluffy and funny!
The concept of having various characters deage at different times and recalling past memories is based off of Kokoro Connect. I really loved how deaging worked there and thought it would be awesome if LSK characters experienced something similar. (Think of all the memories that could be dredged up!) In Kokoro Connect, only one character isn't affected while his friends keep on deaging at random times. I thought, how perfect would it be if Roland was the one unaffected? Roland doesn't put too much thought into it throughout the fic, but he does (somewhat) wonder what he might recall if he were to deage, only to find out that he isn't affected, another way that he's "different." In the end, he doesn't experience recalling past memories like what the others experience, even though he has good reasons for wanting to fill in the blanks in his memory. While Roland felt it would've been great to remember, he doesn't dwell on it for long because hey, c'est la vie. (No Roland! It's okay to want things for yourself!) The other eleven do notice and decide to show just how much Roland matters to them. So... he doesn't discover his memories, but he does make new ones~~~ (...why is this so similar to The Names of His Comrades...)
Actually, I had hoped to explore the memories that everyone recalled during their various deaging stints a bit more, but unfortunately Roland's 1st person POV made that difficult, and this story was more about Roland than anyone else. (Maybe I can fill in the blanks with side stories... No, no, let's not go down that path...kjda;sdjfsa) The ending was quite sappy, I felt, but I hope I managed to express what Roland learned through the experience of watching his friends deage, enough so that the ending doesn't feel out of place. I was trying to connect the ending back to Roland's wondering about his own reason for being part of the Twelve Holy Knights and the answer he'd given Neo in the past for wanting to be the Sun Knight, which he started thinking about from seeing Lesus shrink and question why he'd ever want to become the Judgment Knight. How well I succeeded is another matter entirely...
If asked again, would Roland's answer be different? The answer is yes, it would be different, and by the end, Roland is finally able to put it into words for himself. I feel that Roland knows how important everyone is to him, but he needed an extra reminder that he's really important to everyone too. He's a part of them all. He's Roland Hell. XD;;

Since Roland coming to accept his position among everyone was one of the main points of the fic, I named the chapter titles after "ROLAND HELL." Gotta hit this dense guy on the head with obviousness to get through to him! (The chapter titles spell out his name, hehe~~)
...In actuality, I was looking at the chapter titles and realized that I was only one chapter short of making it to ten chapters, which meant I could spell out Roland's name. The first version of the fic only had 9 chapters. :'D (chapter 10 was only like, 3 paragraphs tacked onto the end of chapter 9. I'm so glad I expanded it. Otherwise, it would have been a very abrupt ending!)
I confess I'd always wanted to write a deaging fic based off of Kokoro Connect, and I always knew it would be a long fic. (So I never wrote the fic. Because. Ljka;lsdjfas;dfa; Too many WIPs ahhhh) I wondered if I should go ahead with that particular idea, or write something shorter and more contained. I'm glad I went ahead with the ambitious idea! It means I actually finished a long fic within a month!!!! What a miracle! I was hoping I could keep it a oneshot... After getting my assignment, I plotted out 7 scenes... each of which turned into a chapter... and then 3 other chapters came out of nowhere.... OTL What happened to my oneshot. (I flailed so hard at Darkicedragon while writing. XDDD) (Even then, Stone didn't get his turn to shine, ahhhhhh. I'm so sorry, Stone. OTL I ran out of time by then to expand on his scenes... )
(This fic is longer than the current A Vice-Captain's Tale and My Friend, the Pope (in-training), both of which I've been working on since last year...)
Anyway, I actually included a lot of nods to different people in the fic. =x I MADE NO ATTEMPTS TO HIDE MY STYLE. XD (Except for, well, not talking much about the fic). Leaf folding origami out of Storm's paperwork was very much 15b. I was racking my brain wondering what the little kiddies should do in the room. Wouldn't origami for Roland be cute~~~

Also, I tossed Roland and Ceo together as much as I possibly could, hahahaha. It's a fic for Kiyu, after all. XDD;;;; (While Blaze got Cloud, fufufufu, though I'm not sure how Moon ended up getting so close to Cloud too)
