I received the new side stories to Illusions, Lies, Truth today. :D This time, the side story features Luyang, Ziya's friend. The side stories were a lot shorter than I expected! (Book Writer was longer). These are around the same length as LSK side stories (maybe just slightly longer). Included with the purchase are small metal bookmarks of Luyang and a plastic envelop/sleeve holding the two books.
Disposal (or Elimination might also be a good name...) is about one of Luyang's missions during high school.
Haha, we learn that Luyang has always been pretty popular (he receives like, 100 love letters), but since he's always busy with missions, he turns everyone down, so there are rumors that he doesn't like girls (but he says that rather than saying he likes guys, it would be more accurate to say that he likes his sword Ti...because that's all he really talks to... Luyang... D:). Around this time, he's contemplating going to college. He has way more than enough money from his missions to attend, but his grades are pretty bad, so he's wondering if he should find someone to help him study. (Go find Ziya~~~ Go go!). This is all before he meets Ziya. During the mission, he's trapped by a bunch of mirrors. The mirrors try to show him his past, possibly to deal him a blow, but Luyang's parents are healthy and alive, so Luyang feels not an ounce of sadness from what the mirrors try to show him. However, it does help him learn that the creature that had trapped him might be "lies" or even "truth," strong enough to show him the past either through digging through his memories or from research. The mirror also shows him the future, chatting with Ziya. The Ziya in the mirror sees him and points behind him, helping Luyang defeat the creature that had trapped him. When the mirrors shatter, Luyang sees Ziya say something to him, but unfortunately Luyang can't read lips.
Luyang is kind of a loner, isn't he...(despite being so popular) *tosses him at Ziya* Come on! Become friends already! Go attend university! Missions aren't everything!
The other side story is called Luyang's cell phone records and details how Luyang first met Ziya. ♥ It's in comic form by jond-D, a different artist than the one who draws the cover. I don't think I know of anything else they've drawn. A text version of the side story is included in the back of the book.
I was a bit worried over what the comic version might look like, but it was pretty cute! (Much nicer than the comic form of No Hero chapter 1). The story starts with Luyang as a kid, waking up in the middle of the night and finding that his parents are gone. It's dark in the hotel room. He gets up to look for his parents, the atmosphere very spooky. Out comes a female ghost, screeching for her missing legs due to the elevator. She tries to scare Luyang, only for him to kick her away, completely destroying the "spooky" mood (he was never scared).
The scene then flashes forward to high school where Luyang meets Ziya for the first time. Luyang squashes a creature by sitting on it, making Ziya stare at his butt. Immediately, Luyang wonders if Ziya can "see" it... or if he's just interested in Luyang's butt. Luyang takes to watching Ziya, but he can't really figure it out. Then, one day, after Luyang excuses himself from his classmates, stating that he needs to eat at home, he goes to a noodle store to eat before his mission and runs into Ziya who is working there. Luyang tries to order but Ziya recommends other food instead and completely changes Luyang's order. (Oh Ziya...) Then, Ziya takes a roll of newspaper and tries to swat a darting black bug, only to realize there was never any bug there. Luyang is finally certain that Ziya can "see." He corners Ziya to ask about it, thinking Ziya might also be part of his world, but he finds out that Ziya isn't. It's just that he can "see," and what he sees is startling clear! It would have been better for Luyang to pretend not to believe Ziya, as the more Ziya believes in something, the more real the things he sees would become, but when Luyang sees Ziya's expression, Luyang can't think of answering any other way but saying that he believes Ziya.
Afterward, Luyang "calls" a taxi and leaves on his mission. (I believe the mission is the one detailed in the other side story).
Then, we get another flash forward to present time where Ziya has learned of Luyang's background. A bunch of mirrors shattered in the store Ziya went to. The owner blames Ziya, but after viewing the security tapes, they can tell that Ziya didn't do anything. We learn that this was the future that Luyang saw in the other side story, and Luyang, in the present, finally learns what Ziya was telling him through the mirror. (It was something like, "You got yourself captured again!")
(These two are really cute~~~. Yay for getting to see how they met!)
Oh, and I guess the name of this side story refers to how Luyang records everything down in his cellphone.
And here's the back of the envelop/bag. :D
