Prince of Tennis movie 2 picspam part 1

Apr 08, 2012 04:42

Oh the crack. Is this tennis anymore? The way animators are able to come up with battles revolving around tennis... that's some skill. Halfway through, I felt this was almost RPG'ish.

Right in the very beginning, we have violence with tennis, with one guy being chased for betraying the group. We're introduced to Siu, who I just looked up on the Tenipuri movie site. Apparently he is Chinese. I did not know this.

Yeah, that doesn't look suspicious, right? =P

And then Siu jumps into the water while everyone else just watches. Don't go around killing people with tennis...

Anyway, we're in England! Apparently England has a lot of birds!

Seigaku arrives at the Wimbledon courts and talk about how they'll one day play here.

Have some random English people looking disgruntled at Seigaku's presence. We'll never see these guys again.

Momoshiro is excited to represent Japan, but Kaidou tells him not to disgrace them.

Apparently Hyoutei has come too. ;D

Oshitari comments about how Atobe used to live in England.

Tackle hug! Guess who's here?

Shitenhouji~

They're kind of cute. How long are you going to hold Ryoma's hands, Kin-chan?

Rikkai's all ready and posing for their entrance.

I forgot what Sanada was yelling, but Momo was the first to respond. XD

Kirihara's unimpressed face. (Unimpressed face #1 spotted!)

I'm not even fond of Oshitari, but this is an awesome shot of him. With glowing glasses rims and everything.

But can his entire pair of glasses glow like Yagyuu's? XDDD Anyway enough screencaps of everyone just standing around looking pretty.

In the next part, we're actually shown a ton of tennis! Everyone's hyped up for their upcoming matches. What's awesome about this part is that we get a lot of animation. Guess a movie is different, unlike the tv series where we were bombarded with still scenes.

And here we have the coaches watching everyone. Wait, Yukimura, why are you with the coaches?! You're not a coach! =P

Yukimura flirting with Ryuzaki-sensei, discarding his jacket even

Yagyuu plays doubles with Yanagi against Kenya and Chitose.

Yanagi predicts Chitose will use Saiki Kanpatsu no Kiwami.

Meanwhile, Kin-chan is playing against Ryoma.

Or is he? LOL. Apparently he's not. Because it's actually Niou, while the real Ryoma is playing against Atobe.

While all this is going on, someone is still drowning. Don't tell me Siu has been in the water all this time?! Is this Siu?!

Late practice.

But suddenly, all of them start getting attacked! Kirihara!!! DDDD;

lol this is all I got of Ryoma. Momo and Ryoma decide that whoever loses the point will treat the other, so when Ryoma lets the shot through, Momo cheers, but then Ryoma ends up leaping across the net to protect Momo. (would've been faster to aim the tennis ball and knock away those shots, yeah? but anyway, Ryoma got there in time by leaping over the net)

Dun dun dun.

Shiraishi dodging attacks.

While Kirihara is at first finding this kind of exhilarating.

Until the ball destroyed his racket strings.

Tezuka being cool.

Tezuka: I don't need your help.
Shiraishi: I'm not helping, it's just that the numbers have increased.
(lol Tezuka, maybe it's Shiraishi who wants your help?)

Ootori rushes to protect Shishido, and then Shishido rushes to protect Ootori...

Kirihara!!!! DDDD;

...and then he talks about how he can't face his fukubuchou after this. That's the first thing you think about? Akaya, your injuries are more important...

See how many tennis balls he's surrounded by?

I do so love it when characters fight back to back! Oh wait, this is tennis...

IS this tennis? I think that ball could have killed someone.

Kikumaru: Where's Ochibi and Momo?
Everyone comes, so the mysterious attackers retreat, but Ryoma and Momoshiro are nowhere to be found.

Tezuka: This is a real tennis ball. (Me: What?! XD;;)
I looked it up later.

Meanwhile, Ryoma and Momo are actually owning their opponents.

Until Keese or however his name is spelled shows up. Momo!! DDD;

And then Siu comes to save the day.

Keese. Here's our bad guy.

First good shot of Peter. (piitaa, should be Peter). When he started talking, I almost mistook him for Gakuto...

Intense look.

At each other.

Unimpressed look #2. (Actually, Ryoma's just narrowing his eyes after Siu disappears). Anyway, after staring at each other, Keese leaves, Ryoma yells out Momo's name, and then when he looks up, Siu is already gone.

Momo, Shishido, and Akaya are hospitalized, thankfully with light injuries.

Akaya really does apologize to Sanada. XD;;

Not a care in the world.

Everyone talks about what happened, minus the captains & vice captains since they're away.

Deep in thought.

Kawamura: It's not your fault that Momo got hurt.

Siu crashes the party. People notice that he has on a ring much like the attackers, but Ryoma speaks up for him.

Kaidou wants to have a go at him.

So tennis it is! (Tennis!!)

Hiyoshi thinks Kaidou has this for sure, but then Kaidou hits it out...

Unimpressed face #3. (though they were just wondering what happened)

Niou also wonders what the trick is.

Kaidou. DDDDD;

Inui explains to Niou that Kaidou is forced to hit something before he hits the ball. (Is this really at all possible??)

WHat.

What.

Apparently Siu knows how to gather ki, so he hits a ki ball before each real shot, calling this Gemini.

Ryoma takes Kaidou's place and figures a way to counter Siu's ki ball by flipping his racket and letting the ki ball through so he can hit the real ball.

Siu's quite happy that Ryoma countered it.

The captains and vice captains return and wonder who the heck is playing against Ryoma. (lol at Shudou being there. I don't think he had a single line.)

Ryoma's next serve makes Siu remember someone else (Keese).

Finally he introduces himself and asks for Ryoma's name.

The captains stop him and ask him more about the group he used to be part of, claiming its their right to know given how they were attacked.

Siu explains they're a group known as Kuraku (Crack?!).

(Gakuto wants to join Shitenhouji, lol)

Real tennis is explained a bit here.

Unimpressed face #4.

Unimpressed face #5.

Meanwhile, Crack is being all mysterious and evil in their hideout.

Oishi says they should report this to the police, but Siu says he wants to end this himself, for his own sake, and for their sake.

Ryoma says to let him go by himself. Surprising, surprising. I mean, if we let him go by himself, then no one's going to get any action.

We won't be getting much of Yukimura after this, aw.

Look who's about to jump on Siu's boat.

Siu: Get off my boat already. (haha, he didn't speak in quite so bad a tone, but you get the point. =P)

Ryoma: Here? In the middle of the water?
Siu: ...I guess you can stay.

Ryoma: Score!

Kintarou: Where did Koshimae go...

They probably all know.

And yup, they do. Inui even tells us the probability that Ryoma went after Siu, something like 88%?

Yanagi corrects him by taking it to the decimals. Inui claims he didn't feel the decimals where necessary, lol.

Yukimura: Siu mentioned he needed to do this for his own sake, and for his sake. Echizen-kun must have realized who Siu meant, so he let Siu go by himself, and then he followed him.
Hm~, so who is "he"? :3 (I really like hearing Yukimura say "Echizen-kun")

Oishi tries to persuade Tezuka to report this to the police, but Tezuka replies that Siu said he only needs until daybreak. They'll wait until then. (that is... not safe at all!)

However, of course Tezuka isn't planning to stand around and do nothing.

Atobe knew that.

And even had Kabaji prepare a boat.

All ready to leave.

But Fuji wants to go too. Tezuka tries to persuade him not to, saying they still had a match tomorrow, but Oishi says he'll take care of it.

Atobe just wants to leave already. =P

He doesn't get his wish because Kirihara stops them and says he's going too. He asked for permission from his captain and everything.

Apparently he didn't ask for permission, lol, but actually Sanada just wanted to go too.

Is it time to leave yet? Nope, because Shiraishi wants in too.

Atobe: That's great and all, but my boat can only fit two people. (and he only wants to give Tezuka a ride)

lol.

Higa comes to save the day since apparently they're doing part time work, renting out boats. Everyone thought they'd returned to Okinawa already, but apparently they haven't... (don't tell me this is since that one episode where they had to be monks to earn money because they were stranded in Osaka?!).

They even went to China, lol.

And saved princesses.

Higa has seriously become a comedic school...

Kite: We'll rent you the boat at the discounted price of 500 pounds.
Everyone: ??!!!! That's way too expensive! The price went up!

Atobe flashes his card. XDDD

LOL Higa's reaction.

Higa: We are yours to command. (LOL)
Kirihara doesn't look too impressed.

I see that Atobe still decided to take Tezuka. Sanada asks if Atobe knows where they're going. Atobe answers of course, it is his castle after all.

Kirihara is shocked about it, then they all kind of realize that of course it's Atobe's castle. Only he would name the castle "King of Kings".

See how delighted he is about it.

Unimpressed face #6.

Siu: Hey, you should sit down before you fall.
And then Ryoma's hat flies off.

Siu saves him.

They then have a heart-to-heart, and Ryoma asks him who Siu meant by "him" and why Siu froze when Ryoma served.

Siu talks about how Ryoma reminded him of someone.

Siu is totally the main character of this movie.

Dun dun dun. The castle appears.

Here's the outside of the castle.

Ryoma comments that this is really bad taste.

Atobe almost sneezes but manages to hold it, saying that someone must be speaking behind his back.

Ryoma spots a horse, lol.

Is the horse really that interesting?

Eerie green glow.

Dang, Atobe used to live here? Just how rich is he?

Ryoma asks about why Siu left Crack.

Siu reminisces.

He talks about how he injured a lot of people and one day saw the effects that had on a player's tennis, so he started feeling remorseful.

The moment of realization.

This is when you should find a save point.

Now it's too late to turn back!

They managed to walk right up to the last boss.

But before they can fight him, they must fight the stand in for the last boss.

Seriously, what a castle. I wonder what kind of floor this is? Doesn't feel like what you'd play tennis on.

They play with real tennis balls.

Siu uses ki.

But so can Peter, and he can even use triple ki, whatever that's named...

Triple ki?!

Ouch.

Peter is gleeful.

Ryoma's only role is to hand Siu his racket.

Chain link hopping time.

Oh no, the drawbridge is rising up. Hurry, run!

Everyone leaps off, but Kite stays behind, saying his job ends here. He was only doing his part time job of renting out the boat.

They don't believe it, but they explain to themselves that Kite has always been such a guy.

But nope, he actually remained behind to fight!

Sand comes pouring down...

While running, Fuji notices something and breaks away from everyone.

The sand forms a tennis court! Instant tennis court! (where'd the lines come from?)

Kite's opponent thinks he has the advantage, but the Kite uses shukuchi and returns the shot, telling him that he's very used to playing on sand. His opponent seems to be able to see the sea behind Kite. (lol, you've got skill, Kite!)

Aaaaand then a second court appears behind Kite. How do you even play tennis from both sides??? There's no end of the court then! No baseline!

Kite's 2 nameless opponents.

Kite all dramatic.

...

Getting hurt.

...wait for it...

IN THE DEPTHS OF DESPAIR

AND THEN

THE SAVIOR. THE HERO. PRINCE ON A WHITE HORSE. Kite, your prince on a white horse has come to save the day!!! (I just doubled over in laughter after this)

Kite has the right to be surprised.

Fuji leaps off the horse.

Dynamic entrance or what.

More back to back fighting! (...how is this tennis...)

Kite and Fuji. I never would've thought.

Anyway, this post is too large, so there'll be a part two. XD;;

Part 2 is over here.
