Legend of Sun Knight rambling

Some food for thought.

I saw someone mention in a comment on Prince Revolution! (volume 3 chapter 1 or 2...one of those chapters) that maybe Leaf's the origin of Sun's curse, the one where someone always disturbs Sun when he's doing his facials. With how Leaf de-stresses with voodoo dolls...and with how often he asks Sun for his hair... XD;; I'm ( Read more... )

Oh, does Google translate have a text-to-speech feature?

The program I tried out was this one: 朗读女. There are some voices and sample recordings of each voice you can listen to on the page too. You can either copy and paste the words into the program, highlight the words, or have it read from a document. The program also reads English and Japanese, I think. Haven't tried it out.

Quick help in translating Chinese characters to english mashatess February 21 2012, 03:11:44 UTC
I've been trying on Google translate program to try to translate some novels 5-7 for me, since I can't wait for good novel translation and its been a trying experience to say for sure, since google translation invents some new words for characteres I never thought off such as Elliott (Elijiah) former Hell knight is translated as "Iraqi forces Asian", I am so totally serious this is what google AND yahoo translation tools translates him as, took me quite a while to figure out wtf it was. As is there is another character called "Iraqi Road" and apparently its some later character that appears in later novels so I can't figure out who he is ( ... )

Translations of names differ depending on translator because these names are more based on sound than meaning. (While google translate would translate each character by meaning).

I see that the character names already have some translations next to them (Prince Revolution will be translating some differently though).

I'll skip ones that already have English next to them on that page (even though I might translate some differently). These are just rough names.

路齊 - Luchile (Luchi is a bit closer)

沉默之鷹(等陽) - Silent Eagle (Awaitsun)
伊路 - Illu
紅詩 - Scarlet (literal: Red Poem)
麥凱 - Mike

忘響國 - Kingdom of Forgotten Sound
藍德國王 - King Lande

月蘭國 - Kingdom of Moon Orchid

基辛格王國 - Kingdom of Kissinger
泰迪爾 - Taidir
夏洛特 - Charlotte
米雪 - Michele (guy's name)

Others
艾崔斯特 - Aldrizzt
希貝兒 - Sybil
優娜 - Yuna
伊果 - Igor
亞奇 - Iacchi
伍德洛 - Woodrow
凱里 - Kylie
艾洛 - Elloi (Eloise)
珍萼 - (sounds like Really Hungry)
沈盼 - (sounds like Judgment)
梅萊 - (sounds like Didn't Come)
修伊斯 - Hughes

So infamous "Iraqi Road" becomes Illu. Wow, google translations are really horrible!

thank you so much, it actually starts to make some sense. just a little.

Yes, the first character of his name is part of the Chinese words for Iraqi, so I can see why a mechanical translation would turn out that way.

Have fun with google translate!

If you want something else to compare google translate with, there's also MDBG (click on look up all the words in a text) It gives you translations by phrases (with multiple suggestions if available), so you can piece together the sentences yourself.
