And here is fic #2. I am amazed I even managed to write this much. I stressed a lot over it. :'D

Next exchange will be yuletide for me. I hope I don't miss sign-ups. I've already nominated six fandoms, hehe. In the meantime, I'm going to work on my WIPs some more, and perhaps write a Bakuman fic (the idea, it's been haunting me for ages). Ah, but there's ( Read more... )

This tugged on my heartstrings for a bit. It was interesting to see some insight onto how Yagyuu and Niou were dealing with the whole change-up for the National Tournament and to see how much they wanted to play doubles with each other through their subtle actions and thoughts. Yukimura will do what he has to for his team to claim victory and it was sad when Niou's plan had to backfire.

And yes, I was annoyed when I found out that not only Yagyuu had to fake-lose a singles match, but he had to be left out of the finals.

Great story - loved how each character was done :)

It saddens me that they didn't get to play one last satisfying match together, but I hope the fic ended with a hopeful enough tone (but then we know what happens next in the series...). Yukimura was interesting to write here. While Niou and Yagyuu both dislike what Yukimura asks of them, they also understand Yukimura's drive.

I actually stopped reading the series when I realized Yagyuu wasn't in the finals. It took me a bit before I finally finished reading the series, and then when I thought about things some more, I felt really bad for Yagyuu because his last match was a fake one! Writing about that here made me realize that all over again. He sure got the short end of the stick.

Thank you~ :)
