Every year's DC movie shows in theaters during Golden Week and the DVDs come out around autumn. I used to follow the movies mostly because it was the only animated DC I could get my hands on by buying importing the DVDs from Taiwan. Anyway, it's become sort of a tradition for me, but my favorites will always be the first two movies (both of which I've rewatched a lot)...movies after that are a bit hazy for me.
As movies go, movie 13 was interesting enough. There are two major plots going on at once--one is trying to find the serial murderer who's been leaving hints with mahjong tiles, and the other has to do with watching out for the Black organization. Oh, and the Detective Boys do their own little thing too, so you could say there are three plots going on~. The murder plot kind of takes a backseat in this movie. There's not much a sense of emergency in comparison with what's happening with the BO. Oh, and guess what? This is DC's turn to damage Tokyo Tower. XD;
I thought this was cute. :D
To start the movie, Conan gets caught by Gin in the Mouri Detective Agency office. You know this is totally a dream because if he gets discovered like this, it's all over. Conan's nightmare does set the tone for the movie!
Agase's quizzes for each movie. This one was about Tanabata. Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta all had their own cute visions. XD;
Conan calls Hattori to help him investigate a fire incident at a hotel. This scene was sweet because Hattori noticed that Conan sounded a bit off, so he made him promise that they'll go out to eat okonomiyaki together. ♥ And that's most of Hattori's screentime. He does live too far away.
He talks about The Beatles (Genta and the others are on the CD covers, hehe), but none of the kids know about the group because they're too young. XDDD Poor Agase feels old!
I liked the character design of Mizutani. :D I also liked the character design of Nana. Such a sweet couple. ;__;
Ran was awesome in the little time that she showed up. Seriously demonstrated her karate skills. She even dodged a bullet with the gun in front of her. She might have a hole in her hair that billowed up next to her. But man, fighting inside the Tokyo Tower way up in the sky does make for a dramatic scene.
Meanwhile, all the police are knocked out, haha.
Young little Conan has sure pointed a lot of guns, but he does look cool.
Do not imitate Conan and jump off the Tokyo Tower. We aren't nearly as resourceful as this little guy.
Eeeeek. There were lots of beetles in the movie (the kids were capturing beetles). NOW THERE'S ONE ON MY DESK. A small one but where did it come from??
