So I'm 98% certain I made my movie meme too difficult. Therefore, I'm adding in a second quote from each of the unguessed ones, maybe it will help...? I hope! Maybe some more hints too. And release dates
1. Being an adult means having a speedometer that marks 210 and never driving over 60.
--Tell me that you love me first because I'm afraid that if I tell you first you'll think that I'm playing the game.
*Original movie is in French, starring a pre-Oscar Marion Cotillard and a super adorable Guillame Canet
(2003)
2. Come back and make up a goodbye at least, let's pretend we had one...
--Well, technically speaking, the operation is brain damage, but it's on a par with a night of heavy drinking. Nothing you'll miss.
*Two of my favourite modern actors star as star-crossed ill-fated soul mates
(2004)
3. Remember the night we broke the windows in this old house? This is what I wished for. (It's A Wonderful Life - Merry)
4. You see, this is my life! It always will be! Nothing else! Just us, the cameras, and those wonderful people out there in the dark!
--The poor dope - he always wanted a pool. Well, in the end, he got himself a pool.
*The line following the original quote is one of the most famous in movie history, and is the last in the film. The second quote is from the very beginning.
(1950)
5. Everything is different, but the same... things are more moderner than before... bigger, and yet smaller... it's computers...
--It seems to me the only thing you've learned is that Caesar is a "salad dressing dude."
*If you haven't seen this movie I will eat your soul.
(1989)
6. Well, judgin' from his tracks, he's about six and a half feet tall. He eats raw squirrels and all the cats he can catch. There's a long, jagged scar that runs all the way across his face. His teeth are yella and rotten. His eyes are popped. And he drools most of the time.
--Neighbors bring food with death, and flowers with sickness, and little things in between. Boo was our neighbor. He gave us two soap dolls, a broken watch and chain, a knife, and our lives.
*One of my favourite movies, starring one of my favourite actors, playing one of my favourite characters, based on one of my favourite books.
(1962)
7. Oh come on now lads, don't be windy, where's that famous pluck?
--Hey, it's a thingie. A fiendish thingie! Look out, Ringo!
*Um, seriously, you want a hint for a movie where someone is talking to "Ringo"? How many Ringo's are there? LOL
(1965)
8. It's one thing to want someone out of your life, but it's another thing to serve them a wake-up cup full of liquid drainer. (Heathers - Merry)
9. How do you find your way back in the dark?
--Honey, we all got to go sometime, reason or no reason. Dyin's as natural as livin'. The man who's too afraid to die is too afraid to live.
*The original quote is the last line spoken onscreen by Marilyn Monroe, and it appeared in a movie where her role was written specifically for her by her then-husband Arthur Miller.
(1961)
10. Now, I had some pretty good coaching last night, and I find that if I yield only for a question or a point of order or a personal privilege, that I can hold this floor almost until doomsday. In other words, I've got a piece to speak, and blow hot or cold, I'm going to speak it.
--You think I'm licked. You all think I'm licked. Well, I'm not licked. And I'm going to stay right here and fight for this lost cause. Even if the room gets filled with lies like these, and the Taylors and all their armies come marching into this place.
*One of only two or three political/courtroom dramas I like, because it has one my all-time favourite actors playing the lead (another of his famous films appears earlier in this list)
(1939)
After this, I'm probably going to just replace a few of these movies with other ones. It's depressing to see them all left unguessed! LOL (Interestingly enough, I never realised how many of my favourite movies were made in the 60's. Hm.)
