The Evil of Chasing Dragons
Ok, if you asked me yesterday, or any other day for that matter, to list 10 things I expect to see outside my kitchen window, Its a safe bet that 'a vagina' would not be on that list. But that's exactly what sauntered past my disbelieving eyes yesterday as I sat in my kitchen, typing away on my computer. Stunned, I got up and went into my lounge room where I saw a completely naked girl standing near our front door. She wasn't cowering in fear or anything, just standing there like she was waiting in line at Albertsons. It turns out that she's high on something (junkie) and had an argument with the low-life neighbor that Ive mentioned in a previous post. Much to my disapproval, my Wife takes pity on her and lets her get dressed in our bathroom. I, however, wanted to put her in an ACME canon and shoot her into another state, Wile E. Coyote style, but local laws and my better judgment prevented any unnecessary cartoon violence. Anyway, to cut an already long story short, She told us that our neighbor wasn't her boyfriend (we all know that isn't the truth. He's 41 and this girl was 18. Thats the kind of guy he is) but he's been beating her up (she had bruises all over her). We told her to get away from these kind of people because its ruining her life. She was then picked up by what we believe was a female relative. Next thing, the Fuzz were in our alley looking for her and our neighbor (who had conveniently disappeared). Once they left the scene he miraculously appeared only to start threatening our completely harmless (female) neighbor on our other side. Hopefully, this chick gets her act together because she's looking at a really hard life if otherwise. And as for our neighbor who likes the young girls, well, hopefully he gets what he deserves one day.
The bizarre thing was at the end of the day I went to my 17 year old's niece's dance recital where I saw a beautiful, intelligent young girl with her act well and truly together (and not to mention and amazing dancer and choreographer). The complete antithesis to the sad and tragic girl that wandered past my window that morning.
Its such a shame because this girl could have been very attractive and maybe done something with her looks but the drugs had created a worn and fairly haggard looking girl that may not be long for this world. With any luck, she'll wake up to herself, get off the junk and do something with her life.
