I have been sleeping well lately, feeling better, and just plain happier, all thanks to my evening therapy sessions. I am not seeing a shrink or a massage therapist, but instead reading Calvin and Hobbes for about 20 minutes each night before bed.
You see, over the past, well, I don't know, year or so, my mother has been bringing over boxes and boxes of my old books over to my house. I have been storing away all my old text books and college notes, rereading some, finding out how much I have forgotten since college, all that. Eventually a box full of comic books arrived. I never read things like Batman comics... I mean The Far Side, B.C. and Calvin and Hobbes. I never had an imaginative childhood like Calvin did, nor a friend like Hobbes. Hell, I didn't even have 2 parents for most of my childhood, and when I did, well, let's just say I was better off with just my mom being around. After a long day of doing whatever, some Calvin and Hobbes leaves me feeling all warm and fuzzy and clears my mind well enough for me to sleep.
