(no subject)
I know this is a silly thing to complain about, but I'm going to be excited for the next paragraph so be patient. Today was the day that apple was releasing the iPhone SDK which was going to be awesome, and granted the news was pretty cool. There's going to finally be some games, and AIM, and they're even going to allow for the development for a skype client, which would be really awesome right now for calling Rianna. I mean, imagine calling Rianna at any time I want at skype prices. People were expecting Steve (Jobs, yeah I'm going to pretend we're on a first name basis here) to deny programmers access to external peripherals, and that didn't even happen. Yeah, the main rule was simply this: "No malicious apps: porn, etc." I like that porn is the epitome of a malicious application. So this is all good, but now for my huge disappointment; none of this is being released for the common user (me) until June. June?! No one else seems upset by this, and I understand waiting to release something known to have all the bugs worked out over releasing something ASAP. It's the main difference between Apple and PC really (yet somehow Apple has more updates than PC...). I just wish they'd release the software as it was created and not to made everyone wait 4 months for a lump sum package. Especially for skype - I'll have no use for skype in 4 months (unless I suppose that for whatever reasons that Rianna goes to Japan to teach and I don't go too. Then I'd have a year of needing that feature, but I don't want to need that feature after 4 months). Enough on that because I'm sure none of you care at all about any of this either because you don't have/care about the iPhone, aren't tech savvy enough to really care or both. (feel free to tell me otherwise, but I know I'm a bigger nerd than most of my friends)
In other news, my life. There's not a whole lot to update on, but I've been feeling productive this week. I still have no job, which sucks, but I feel I'm closer than I've been yet. I sent an e-mail with a cover letter and an attached resume and they contacted me back asking me to fill out an application if I was still interested. I did that yesterday. There was another one that's only part time and only for a receptionist position, but it's a lot closer, and it's nicer to have two possibilities than one. I feel a much needed renewed sense of optimism. I've also gotten rid of the mice in the house which is nice. I went to the gym on Tuesday for the first time in a long time and I went to a concert afterwords. I saw Tilly and the Wall now for the third time, and really they put on such a good show. Yes, I've been doing well. Even had a BBQ last night. Oh and my most recent house project was to fix up an old computer and hook it up to the TV. I had a lot of help from Alex with him getting me the parts I needed by him having access to junk computers, but yeah. Like I said, not a lot to update one, but I'm feeling pretty good. Peace.
