Okay, I'm gone for a few days and LJ goes nuts

It's been awhile and I'm sorry for that. School has been super hectic and I've barely been able to keep up with my flist. I know the odd comment here and there doesn't make up for actual posts and I'm sorry if I worried anyone. So here's an update on things to be followed by a few observations on the current drama some of my flist is dealing with.

We were assigned this major project for two of our courses [HR Management and Project Management] on Union/Management Negotiations. A lot of fun, but damn I've had a lot of work to do. They made me team leader, which basically means I get to do all the reporting and paperwork. Which is fine as I love the paperwork. But it's been hellishly time consuming. Most days I start homework when I get home until Meaghan goes to bed, which means I haven't had a lot of time to spend with her either.

Anyway, I did make some time to put up the tree on Black Friday after Meaghan went to bed. It's not the greatest as I suck at doing the lights. There are more lights at the bottom than the top, but it still looks pretty. I'll post pics later if I can get the lighting right.

I've had the flu for about two weeks now, crappy. It hasn't been really bad, just annoying more than anything. Unfortunately, Meaghan ended up with it and has been sick all week. I ended up leaving school early on tuesday because her fever was really high, but it's way down now. She's got the runny nose, chest congestion now. And I think she's been getting sinus headaches. Poor thing is dealing with it but she's had problems sleeping the last few days, which in turn means I haven't gotten much sleep either.

Got a lot of our christmas shopping done. Still have no idea what to get the little girl this year. She doesn't have room for any more toys, lol. So, if anyone has any ideas, I'd welcome them.

I went out and bought myself new clothes. I needed them bad. I almost cried while shopping though. I had the hardest time finding tops that fit, even the XL's wouldn't fit my chest. I ended up having to buy plus sizes, which almost made me cry. I really need to lose a few pounds, well, okay, I need to lose about 20. I'm planning on a big workout routine during school break.

Speaking of, exams start next week. I'm a little nervous but I'm hoping to at least keep my honors [only 80 for honors]. Some of it I'm sure I'll breeze through, like computers. Others have me nervous, like Business Law.

I think that covers the last few weeks. I don't have a life so there's not much to really tell. And luckily there isn't much drama in my life, which brings me to the current situation among my friends in fandom.

I can't believe what's been happening on my flist. I did some looking into it and I must say, Wow. And not a good Wow either. It's hard to believe that anyone would do such a thing, and I know that some people in the fandom have had it happen before.

I've gone through some rough times with depression in the past [back in the days of D'Land] and all I can say is that everyone in fandom [Saundra and Wendi especially] was very supportive. They always had something sweet to say or a new fic for me to read. Their friendship really helped me through a rough period in my life.

And once I came here, there are so many great ladies here that welcomed me in despite the fact that I'm not very active, not much more than a lurker really. To think that anyone would take advantage of that, it makes me sad.

So, to all my fandom friends: *hugs*
