Thought of the Day
This is so completely random, but it popped into my head today... and well, I had to share.
In the animal world, unblinking eye contact is a sign of aggression. Blinking however represents submission.
So my thought is that this is the reason that batting of the eyes is supposedly attractive. Perhaps it also is an act of submission. As far as women have come in our world, we cannot deny that submission is still concidered attractive.
I realize that comparing men to animals is trite, but however intelligent/evolved we are as humans, we are still mammals. And I of course am not implying that this is necessarity a conscious feeling. Maybe in a case like this, inbedded insticts take over on an unconscious level and create attraction.
Anyway, just a thought.
