Diva Reality Check--Create a pie chart (using a real pie of course). Slice the pie into sections representative of your life. Look at where your time and energy is spent. Are you passionate about these things or are they simply obligations? Eat the diva section. Create a sign that says "Are we having fun yet?" to remind yourself of your commitment to fun. Create a fun-o-meter using stickers to rate the amout of fun you have on a scale of 1-5. Reward yourself every week you get 20 stickers.
I'm having a really hard time with this one. I spend most of my time slacking off playing video games. Sad, but true. I want to do other things so I really can't consider that time I'm "nurturing my diva" but what else is it? The problem is I spend all of my time doing stuff that should be fun and it never is. I don't even know what I could reward myself with. I don't really enjoy things any more.
On the good news end of things Jeff got his first call about jobs yesterday. It was a position with Boaing in Philidelphia where he would be working with a small group of programmers doing things similar to the work he was doing last summer. He's excited about it and is pretty sure they'll be calling again. Philidelphia sounds nice. I guess it's coastal and stuff. I'm really worried that if he gets this job we'll end up moving there before I get a chance to see the east coast. I'm not really OK with deciding to live somewhere without having been there first. So I was excited half of yesterday and scared the rest.
