I mentioned in my last post that I'd found a knot in my Blue Frog sock yarn. Well, I've just wound off a few grammes to get me back to the same point and dgiâtre! if I didn't encounter another knot and abrupt colour change!

But I wanted my socks to match, as nearly as possible. Bum.

Some projects I finally got around to photographing, although the light isn't good today. Flash has 'whitened' many of the colours but if I wait for the sun, I'll never get the photos!

First two are knitting, middle image is bargello in closeup, own design, and the last two are patchwork.

I've reached the bit where you start the toe shaping. I hope it's long enough. I managed to try the sock on last night -- still on the needles -- (wonder I didn't do myself a mischief!) and I think it might be. I don't want to pull it back if it isn't. I've just tried to pull on my jumper and dgiâtre! if the neckline isn't too small! This pattern has been nothing but trouble and my nose is so stuffed up and runny at the same time.

I'll unpick it tomorrow. I'm going to watch a 'comfort film' on my laptop.

And I grinned and bounced on the sofa and almost spilled my Calvados!

I now have a crown instead of the temporary in my upper left 5. It feels odd --and it squeaks when I chew! I think I need to forget it's there and eat normally again. I took my sock to help pass the time (they always run late here) and my dentist was so intrigued that I was knitting that I had to show him how I knitted in the round with 4 needles. They are such a generous lot! I cast on for a pair of socks in a yarn I'm unfamiliar with last night and found it very sloppy. I'm using Opal Rainforest in the 'frosch' colourway and it doesn't seem to have as much 'spring' as the Colinette Jitterbug, which is pure merino ( Read more... )

tension squares. I bought some of this yarn because it looked so wonderful in the ball, and the mix of colours caught my eye. I imagined that it would work up quickly, as the recommended needle size is 7mm, but I'm finding it requires more attention than expected.
