There are only two plants flowering in my garden this cold and drizzly May day so here are photos I took earlier.

This next one shows the wallhanging I'm currently free motion quilting before it was pieced into a top and layered up. The fabrics are 'Poetry' by April Cornell for Moda and two-thirds of the blocks for this are at least a year old. Maybe 2, I can't be sure. Anyway. The lemon/yellow doesn't show up very well. [is critical]

I have been to a garden centre earlier and succumbed to a fuschia (very dark flowers) and (joy!) a pot of freesia. Yes, I know their reputation as 'difficult' but nothing ventured, nothing win. (blood is thick but water's thin. In for a penny, in for a pound and and etc) I also saw a very pretty macrophylla hydrangea with fully double flowers that I resisted and now wish I hadn't but, you know, one cannot eat hydrangeas. I now know why my agapanthus have not flowered these last four years and have 'returned to the dust from whence they came, unwept, unhonoured and unsung' several hissing red lily beetles. Those lilies are MINE, I tell you, not an all-you-can-eat buffet. To quote Bugs; 'dis means war'.

Et ch'est tous.
