Marchant

Today is bright and breezy, just right for a coastal walk. I donned 'bags' (as made by Rohan -- not shopping bags!), boots and layers to keep out the penetrating sea breeze and went for it. In deference to my lack of recent walking activity, I kept to the flatter coastal route. I kept up a good pace but I was just a bit short of breath. I had a hat but it was so warm in the sun despite the 'lazy wind' that I didn't wear it. Walking into the wind made one a bit sweaty. (Am I really that unfit?!)

I found a sheltered spot out of the wind and ate lunch; smoked mackerel (salty and delicious!), fresh crusty bread, nectarines and strawberries. Du café et lé morcé du chocolat etout. I was fine walking but now my toes feel odd and I realise my feet were sliding forward in my boots and catching. Happily, this month's 'Country Walking' magazine has an excellent feature on boots.

À la préchaine!
