Hey ya'll!!
Tuesday, 23 March'10
I had Emcee workshop with Yan Ling, Amanda, Karen and Suzlynn.
It was very interesting, as we learned about the importance of pronunciation and enunciation.
So, throughout the workshop people were asked to be volunteers and to speak out with their normal tones, and I have to say it's pretty nerve wrecking considering the fact that most of the people in the room are complete strangers, there is a high possibility of you embarrassing yourself and they are also judging you on your presentation on a certain level.... SCARY!!!
With that we also learned about phonetic alphabet..
It looks like this:
Difficult it is!
So we had to translate a certain text into phonetic alphabets not based on the words spelling, but on how we should originally pronounce it, my head cracked opened half-way through and blood starting oozing out, so I couldn't finish the text..
After the workshop ate lunch with the girls, and made my way to Orchard to check out on the Language schools there..
Went with Yan Ling and Amanda since they were pretty bored and had nothing to do, and Yan Ling was pretty interested in the courses as well.
We took an MRT there, and I have to say the MRT ride was so comfortable I fell asleep, that, or I was too freaking tired and therefore fell asleep.
Anyways, our first stop was IKOMA language school at Shaw Centre. It looked like really cool school, however their classes were already full and the only days that were available were days that both me and Yan Ling could not make it for. Cries. But according to calculation, to finish both Elementary 1 and 2, it will take a whole year, and I would not be able to take the end-of-year JLPT exams... Double cries!!
So, we went to Bunka to checked it out, and they had loads of empty slots and their classes finish much earlier and... drumroll please....
THERE IS HOMEWORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After being in RP for so long, and not have any homework, I'm starting to feel alittle jaded, hopefully homework and weekly tests would prevent that.. So, now, I have to convince my mom to let me study there.. Wish me luck..
After that, since I had a few hours to kill, we went to ION to window shop!
Loads of stuff yo~ Oh my gosh, the amount of clothes I want to buy, but can't T_____T
Added, according to Yan Ling and Amanda my fashion resembles those who are aunties, and I think that is not exactly a compliment.. HELP!
After walking abit, we decided to take a rest and the takoyaki stall, and it is the best Takoyaki I have ever eaten! Its hot, the skin is crispy, the squid inside is chewy and the guy was generous with the sauce and the flakes!! We talked over onomiyaki, and had a great laugh^^
And before we know it, it was already 6 and I had to leave to meet my mom.
After saying goodbye to the girls, I ate dinner with my mom at ION's Foodcourt.
We also went shopping, and I bought a pair of grey jeans from the brand 'cache cache', me like!!
And we bought a few snacks from nippon-ya!
I bought the crackers that I saw on Cartoon KAT-TUN episode 151, the spicy crackers that Junno ate on his 'date'.
All I can say is that it isn't spicy.. more of painful than anything else. It hurts from the first bite, and with every subsequent bite, the pain intensifies.. Ow!! With just one tiny cracker, i managed to down to cups of Ice Lemon Tea under a minute..
