a few weeks ago chris and i went to this really cute art show called "stitch wars". the tiny gallery/store was the upstairs of a really cool comic and toy store called "tate's". you should check out the flickr page for that exhibition if you enjoy adorable fiber arts and star wars as much as i do. mmmm.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/bearandbird/sets/72157621227964172/ they are having a halloween themed show next that i have already rsvped to. so now i just have to figure out what i am going to make.
tonight i made a vegan key lime cheesecake for chris. ive tried making vegan cheesecake before and while it was pretty good, most recipes mainly use fake cream cheese. this stuff has a really overpowering flavor so i wanted to try something different for the base this time. i found this recipe that used millet (the stuff you normally feed to birds, but is actually really good for you if hulled!) and cashews as the cheese base. it actually turned out really good! much like a tart, the texture was realllllly nice.
after dinner we hung out with lilly and played her new favorite game where she is the monster and everyone is scared of her.
i'm really happy, i just wish i had a little more time.
