So yea, it is 8am, and I suck at sleeping in on Saturday.
I also suck at updating my livejournal, but you knew that already. Let's see, I finally wrapped up my break of working at Lonestar 24/8...and no that is not a typo. Somehow in the spare minutes of the wee hours I managed to pick up a boyfriend named Josh. He is dorky and wonderful and basically the best thing that has ever happened to me. We hung out every night when I got off of work and had so much fun. He's already come to visit me once since I came back to LU, and he's coming again on the 23rd. Thre reason he's coming on Monday is that it will be his 25th birthday. It seems strange now not to see him every day, but he lives in Midlothian. I miss him like crazy. This past Wednesday I started the first 7 wks of student teaching. I'm in Ms. Saunders' fifth grade at Nottoway Intermediate School. I know I used to always say that I wanted to teach kindergarten or the younger grades, but fifth grade is so awesome. It's amazing how the kids are so inquisitive and can think creatively. Compared to kindergarteners who are learning basic social skills, it's a whole other ball game. I'm always excited to go to school and see what they come up with next. I've already done a couple activities with them, but next week I'm going to start teaching. Ms. Saunders teaches language arts and social studies to two groups, so next week she'll teach the first groups and I'll teach the second groups. After that I'll probably be pretty much teaching on my own. Between Josh and school, life is pretty great right now.
