As posted in Myspace, not that anyone reads my Live journal anymore anyway: Friday Dec 15th at 830 in the PM:
Last Years RFAHTD was a mild sucess, and this year, I intend on building on that sucess.
That's right, to parapfrase last years invite, cheap is when you do have money, and hoard it, poor is when you don't spend money because you don't have it. I know you're poor. In the spirit of love, peace and poverty, I decided to invent an event (clever, huh?) where as a grop of people spend a few more dollars on their own dinner in the company of close friends rather then spend even more money buying knick nacks for them in the hoopes not to commit holiday foul. Thus the RFAHTD was born.
Here are the ground rules:
1)By attending said RFAHTD you agree that the gift giving/recieving is waived for all individual participants of the RFAHTD event.
2)The only exception to this rule is commited relationship, or specific Gift-giving/recieving alliances negotiated prior to the engagement.
3)you are to give no gift, other then you showing up (your presence is our presents). Holiday cards are acceptable but are not to contain money, checks, or gift certificates. They may however contain up to $5 in SCRATCH OFF lotto tickets only. (just to be different)
4)As a RFAHOLIDAYTD this event takes place of all customary holidays taking place between December and January firsts, including but not limited to Christmas, Chanuka, Kwanza, Festivus or whatever you participate in) Birthdays are the only exception as birthdays are the worst days, I still don't drink Champagne when I'm thirsty.
5)This is an event for Fancy Dress, shirts with collars are a must on men, hats with team logos or baseball-brimms are prohibited. Ties are not necessary, but cameras are encouraged. This need not apply to women because they always know when not to look like a bum anyway(+1 point female gender).
6)You may invite ANY and ALL guests, so long as they understand the rules, and so long as they understand that there is no quarrel at a RFAHTD, drama is to be left outside.
7)The idea is to make this dinner cost less then $40 a person, because I knew that question was coming you cheap bastards.
8)Venue to be determined soon....
