On the weekend I had my first ever garage sale. Don't worry, you didn't miss anything; I managed to keep the best junk for myself. Though if you want some free clothing (mostly sweaters but some other bits), crappy books or boring videos, c'mon by and I'll load you up before The Truck comes.

It was a fair bit of work, but we made $122.60. Promptly squandered almost half of it on a fine Chinese dinner. The object of the exercise was to get rid of clutter and junk, and we did clear some space.

Yeah, I have to agree with the pundits here:

Blender names worst songs

NEW YORK - "We Built This City" by Starship has been chosen by Blender magazine as the worst song ever recorded.

The tune, off 1985's Knee Deep In The Hoopla, tops the magazine's list of The 50 Worst Songs Ever in its current issue.

"It purports to be anti-commercial, but reeks of '80s corporate-rock commercialism," Blender's editor, Craig Marks, told the USA Today newspaper. "It's a real reflection of what practically killed rock music in the '80s."

Rounding out the top three are Billy Ray Cyrus's "Achy Breaky Heart" and Wang Chung's "Everybody Have Fun Tonight".

1. We Built This City (Starship 1985)
2. Achy Breaky Heart (Billy Ray Cyrus 1992)
3. Everybody Have Fun Tonight (Wang Chung 1986)
4. Rollin' (Limpbizkit 2000)
5. Ice Ice Baby (Vanilla Ice 1990)
6. The Heart of Rock & Roll (Huey Lewis & The News 1984)
7. Don't Worry, Be Happy (Bobby McFerrin 1988)
8. Party All the Time (Eddie Murphy 1985)
9. American Life (Madonna 2003)
10. Ebony and Ivory (Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder 1982)

And yes, I have noticed how many of these are from the 1980s. I remember that decade fondly, but can't be proud of everything that went on during it....
