Happy New Year!
I can't believe it's 2007... I'm really looking forward to a fresh start and a new year. the end of 2006 was kinda hard for me... Chris went into the marines, my mom was diagnosed with cancer, the emotional roller coaster of being a marine girlfriend was and is still hard to get used to, and then I lost my Benji on Christmas day. But on the brighter side of it all, it taught me a lot. I learned a lot about cancer and grew really close with my mom, being apart from Chris for months at a time has really broke me down but has made him and I so much stronger, and my new puppy Lexi has brought so much light into my life that when i lost Benji it wasn't so hard to take. i have a feeling that 2007 will be a better year and a new chapter in my life.
Having Chris home this past week was amazing. I love him SOOOO much! There is never a dull moment with him. We literally spent 15 out of the 24 hours of each day together. I guess you can say we're inseparable. He makes me so incredibly happy! I'll hopefully be able to go see him in Virginia during Spring Break for a few days. So that's my next goal :)
New Years was really fun. Chris and I spent the night at Aaron and Rachel's with a bunch of friends. We partied hard into the new year :D I wish I could do it all again!
Last night I stayed at Chris's house and then went with him to the airport this morning. The airport let Chris's mom and I go through security and say goodbye to Chris at his gate because he's in the military. I was really glad we were able to do that. Saying goodbye is not easy at all, I'm really bad at it. I hated saying goodbye to Mike too because I won't see him for a long time, probably not until he gets back from his deployment next year :( Mike's mom, brother Eric, Matt Graham, Jon Drobil and Mike's girlfriend Beka were there with us to say goodbye. I'm so proud of them. They sacrifice a lot for what they do.
And today is my birthday... I turned 19! I hated having to say goodbye to Chris today, but my day was the best it could have been without him. I got my own iPod and I don't have to use my dad's or Chris's anymore :P And I had a really yummy lunch/dinner at Red Lobster with my mom.
Now I am off to bed to catch up on the much needed rest I've been wanting. I hope everyone had a great holiday and for those of you that are back in school, good luck on finals and everything!
