It's bad because I don't usually write fanfics. But the idea sprouted, and I leave you with this before my journey off to the Oregon Coast.
China stood up and gazed out proudly over his plot of the pea patch. It had taken all afternoon, but he had finally finished tending to all his precious vegetables. Bok choy, gai lan, bean sprouts, even the mysterious northern delicacy "green vegetable." Frankly, he didn't have a clue what it was, but his people liked it, so he grew it.
Looking around, China realized that a bunch of other countries were tending to their pea patches today. He's never really had the opportunity to talk to anyone about what they planted, so he decided to take a look around.
"Hey, China," called Spain.
China greeted him back and looked out over Spain's patch.
From one corner to the other, the carefree country had planted variety after variety of tomato. Spain followed China's gaze and grinned.
"How do you like it? Don't you think it's beautiful?"
"Y-yes... I guess it is beautiful, aru..." China muttered. "But don't you grow anything other than tomatoes? You can't possibly survive on one vegetable alone, aru."
Spain laughed. "It's actually a fruit."
"That wasn't the question..."
"Now that I think about it, I think there's something else growing in there..." Spain stood on tip-toe as he squinted his eyes searching for the elusive foodstuffs. "Was it between the Roma and the- ah! There it is!"
Much to China's horror, what Spain had planted among his army of tomatoes was a regiment of churros, all sticking out of the ground as if reaching for the sun.
"Guan Yin save me now."
"Did you say something?"
"Nope, nothing. I-I'll go over there now and stop interrupting your farming, aru."
"Okay, see ya, China!" Spain gave him a smile as wide as the Strait of Gibraltar.
That's all you get for now, because I've run out of time. So, it's too short, and it's also horribly written. It hardly does me any justice.
