Getting Raphael's pets

Aug 30, 2010 10:15

Date: May 17, midday
Location: Lobby, Kitchen, but mostly Raphael's room
Status: Private - Complete
Summary: Rose gets Raphael's pets from his room

Rose went to the reception desk first to get the spare key to room 110. She'd have to get into the room after all if she wanted to do as Raphael had asked and get Pudge and Fella for him. Then she walked back to the stairs but stopped and turned back, remembering something. Raphael had been worried his pets would starve without him. Well, she wouldn't go mouse-hunting for the owl, Pudge could do that himself tonight, but she could take something for Fella with her.

So she took a short detour to the kitchen to get a fresh carrot, complete with green leaves, before she ascended the stairs to the first floor. Rose made sure to open the door quietly so as not to startle the pets. When she entered the room, she immediately noticed the relaxed bunny on the pillow and then the sleeping owl on the windowsill.

She went to Pudge first, knowing that Fella would be easy to get. Pudge opened his eyes slightly and gave a tired hoot, but stayed seated. So Rose went to him, gripped him gently and placed him on her left shoulder. The moment his claws touched her shoulder, Pudge fluttered his wings and ruffled his feathers. One wing hit her squarely in the face but in the next moment the owl settled down peacefully.

Well, that was easier than I thought. Maybe Raphael has a calming effect on animals?

"Now be a good boy while we get Fella and then I'll take you to Raphael" she murmured in a soothing voice while she moved over to the bed and knelt down. She caressed behind the soft bunny ears of Fella for a moment to accustom him to her touch again, before she scooped him up in her arms and placed him in one arm so she'd still be able to move the other one freely. Then she handed Fella the carrot and waited until the bunny was happily munching.

"Perfect. Now lets get you two to our mutual friend, he looked like he needed his friends. And don't wriggle too much!"

Well, most probably neither the bunny nor the owl understood one word of what she said, but maybe a soothing voice would keep them calm. There wasn't anyone here after all to witness her talking to animals.

Rose straightened up again and left the room, locking the door behind her. She would have liked to run, to get back to Raphael as quickly as possible, but that would have dislodged Pudge from her shoulder and jostled Fella badly, so she kept to a sedate pace. And of course she needed to return the spare key first if she wanted to be able to stay with Raphael for a bit. Sighing she made her way to the lobby, to the desk there, and then back up the stairs...
