Date: 12 May 2003 Place: Park behind the manor Status: Public (maybe Raphael wants to be attracted by him after fleeing from Belial? But everyone welcome.) Summary: Jarod contemplates the situation
Whatever worries Raphael had about Belial and his own Existence melted away. He leaped to his feet, so happy he would have been beaming like a tiny sun if he had the presence to do so. He made sure he had enough money to buy them both an Oreo Cookie Shake... And not those little snack-sized ones. He wanted to get Jarod a full-sized shake. The kind with whipped cream and a cherry on top.
"It's down the ways," he said. "We can walk there if you like or I can fly you over." He fluttered his wings a bit, floating a few feet in the air.
Raphael noticed his uncertainty and his cheeks colored. "Well, if you're not comfortable we can just lay around in the grass some more," he smiled, folding his outstretched wings.
Raphael happily strolled beside the Son, having to consciously keep his wings folded because they wanted to flap with glee. "So tell me... Where were you born?" He almost said this time but stopped himself.
"In the United States of America," Jarod said. "To a man and a woman who had previously feared they could not have any children of their own. They had another son and a daughter after me. My brother and I were taken by bad people when we were little children, raised separately by them."
If these people were kept here for anything like experiments, establishing common elements in their histories would probably help in getting through to them later.
"They... They did what?" His mouth dropped open in shock. He couldn't imagine being separated from his siblings like that. It was different for angels but for humans...
"My brother is dead," Jarod said matter of factly. "He died protecting others." Technically correct, although only barely so. "My sister I saw only once, for a second or two, as she was getting out of a car. Then the people hunting me were there and I had to run."
Raphael bit his lip. He couldn't imagine losing a brother that way, having a nightmare come to life had been traumatic enough. "I'm sorry," he finally managed to say, albeit quietly. "Maybe Gabriel could help you find your sister? He's the Messenger, he knows where everyone is."
Jarod shrugged. "As long as the people hunting me are still there, it's safer that we don't know where the other is," he said. "Now... that ice cream?"
Raphael stiffened and froze. "Hunting you...? Who... Who's hunting you...?" Who would dare hunt the Son? Maybe they should tell the Warrior, Michael could protect him.
"It's down the ways," he said. "We can walk there if you like or I can fly you over." He fluttered his wings a bit, floating a few feet in the air.

"I'd rather walk," he said. "The weather's nice enough to enjoy it a little longer, after all."

It would certainly show him if these winged men had free range of the town or if they would be held back by someone or something.

Bold words, he knew. Still, he felt he had to reassure the man somehow.

He didn't really know what else to say. Was this why he did not remember any of them? "You really don't remember me or Gabriel or Michael...?"
