Time: May 5, 2003
Place: The Bar
Status: Public (Jan, ...)
Summary: Jan tries the bar for information.

While it had been nice to talk with Miss Heerkens the information she’d given Jan hadn’t been at all relevant for him at this time. He needed to know how far the safe zone extended - just in case another of his kind showed up.

So once he’d finished unpacking he took the fastest shower his clumsy right hand allowed for, changed into fresh clothes and returned downstairs to investigate Mr. Dawson’s bar. People in bars talked about all sorts of things, surely the barkeeper would know something about the history of this place.

He considered putting out the please clean sign on his way out, but decided to leave that for tomorrow. The room obviously had been cleaned before his arrival and he hadn’t made a mess.

The bar wasn’t hard to find. Jan cast a quick look around to check for any threats, but unsurprisingly everything looked peaceful. Just an ordinary hotel bar in an ordinary hotel in a small rural town in the peaceful countryside of England. What could there be to be afraid of?

He sat on the last barstool that was right next to the wall so he could turn to have his back towards it in case of any nasty surprises and ordered a beer.

“Whatever brand you have here. I’m not familiar with the English brews, yet.”
