Summary: Michael is bored. Gabriel accompanies him to town. Michael is unused to drinking.
Gabriel stretched in his chair, feeling restless. It was a pleasant day outside; the sunlight was slanting in through the windows, and tiny sparkling dust-motes were dancing in the light.
It felt rather stuffy inside the library. Gabriel longed to be outside, to squint against the sun and see new things. He sighed, pulling an old book towards him and beginning to repair it.
