My fellow Terrans,
Sad news has reached me of the death of a great man. I know that I am not alone in my grief, and I wish to share with you my memories of Leonard Nimoy.
I had the pleasure of meeting Leonard and spending time with him, several years past. Though we did not always see eye-to-eye, he was an inspiration to me with his sense of justice, his loving heart, and his innumerable talents. He was a poet, artist, singer, actor...the list goes on.
Some of you know all too well that Leonard and I came from different worlds. A universe where everyone I know are different is something I have much experience with, but a universe in which I do not exist at all, in which our entire reality is merely a fantastical story-this was the world from which Leonard came, and a world which he helped shape nearly as much as he shaped ours.
Our story, you see, was one which he helped create. Leonard Nimoy is responsible for the most significant parts of Vulcan culture, and thus for most of the greatest things ever achieved by the Terran Empire and the United Federation of Planets alike. To Leonard, we owe the existence of my beloved husband and Emperor, and through him the advancement of our society over the past several years. In his own world, millions admired him and looked up to him as a role model, inspired by the story he told.
I am thankful to say that Leonard lived a long and prosperous life. All our worlds were blessed with his life and his gifts for 83 wonderful years, and it is with fond gratitude and bittersweet sorrow that we bid him farewell on his final journey.
