The Things That Don't Get Done.

Essays and project logs. Prime examples of things that just do not get done unless you have one of those quirky, industrious days… It’s driving me up the wall, to be honest, to write about etymology when I know my teacher doesn’t care in the slightest what I write. I can’t bring myself to be motivated enough to do it when I know that I’ll get no concrit whatsoever. Lame, lame, lame! But darn if I’ll be beaten down by school now, so close to the finish… Only 69 days left until graduation now.

But I admit that it is difficult when my head seems to be elsewhere. London and Somerset are less than two weeks away now, and I absolutely cannot wait! Just think of the food, the people, the pubs, the long walks! And just think of the bookshops! Definitely going to hunt for Alan Campbell’s new book, and perhaps something auf Deutsch too; children’s books maybe, and grammar stuff. It’d be the most brilliant thing if I could get a hold of something that explains verb conjugations so that I understand… Not to mention all the cases and pronouns. Warum muss es so schwer sein?

Speaking of German, I really, really want to see “Der ganz große Traum”. What a lovely film it seems to be, and what an amazing soundtrack it has! It helps that die Mannschaft has approved of it, obviously, but I do love sports films in general and this would probably be a welcome feel-good variant as all the others make me cry. (“Remember the Titans”, I’m looking at you!) No clue when I got so emotional.

Lastly, Fußball:
* How awesome is Schalke 04, really?! You show those Italians that German teams are a force to be reckoned with! A 5-2 away was better than I could ever have hoped for, as the shocking/embarrassing/painful Bayern exit is still fresh in mind…

* Nervous about the Nürnberg match tomorrow, y/y? Hoping and praying for a certain someone to get many minutes of play, preferably klose to the ball and with goals added to his tally afterwards! /Freudian slip

* I’m starting to consider myself insane, but watching Messi’s dribbles and goals does nothing for me… The CL comms nearly fell off their chairs with excitement while analysing him yesterday, and it was the most awkward thing I’ve ever seen. Why don’t they ever do that when looking at van Bommel slide tackles? Now that’s exciting!

* And because it’s called for: Joyeux anniversaire, monsieur Ribéry!

So, that's my head empty again for tonight. :) Toodles.

these people kick balls for a living, salto klose, books, mark van yellowcard, sports, randomizin, h'education
