I think it's safe to say that no matter how enlightened the universe, there will always be a few of the male persuasion who seem to think that females exist to look pretty for them.

Hope you enjoyed the show.

It was a fun outing, we should do it again sometime.

silly men, she really is fine without it, spock is more evolved than you, +voice, hailing frequencies open

Oh, I think they're here for much more than just that. It's just a perk.

Miss Vampire Slayer? Yes, we know about it, her housemates that is. At least the basics. Has she broken some code of Vampire Slayer Secrecy?

[ he's going to chuckle warmly here. ]

The rules of Slayerhood don't really apply to her in ways I don't have enough digits to list off. Broke the codes long ago, before I even met her.

No wonder she and Captain Kirk got along so well. [She says it almost to herself.] Some people seem to be like that. Rules? What rules?

[ those rules the watcher's council held in such high regard before it went boom and started recruiting people like andrew go forgotten in favor of that little bit of information just dropped into his lap. clever as ever, he puts two and two together. ]

Kirk. Jim Kirk?

[ buffy had mentioned a jim to him, but hadn't given him a last name to go along with it. ]

Yes. Captain James Tiberius Kirk, if we're going to use his full name and title. [He might be able to hear the smile in her voice; she's used to people knowing her Captain by now.]

Tiberius? Well that's just...unfortunate. And another military type. Talk about tastes on a two way street.

[ spike. you should be keeping all that to yourself. 8| ]

Starfleet isn't military, though it's structured in a similar way. Our purpose is diplomatic and exploratory in nature. [Yeah, she has to rush to its defense. Don't be too hard on her.]

Not really in the business of caring about the details, love. It's the whole ranking part of your gig that gets the chuckles out of me, though kudos and all that sort on the diplomatic front, I suppose. Ambitious, but rubbish.

Not sure what about it gives you the "chuckles", but to each his own. And diplomacy is only rubbish when it isn't attempted.

Someone's got tastes in two specific directions, let's say vampires and military boys. And I've been around for soddin' ever. Not once have I seen diplomacy work. Never does when you need it to. Always end up fighting. Just the way the world works.
