A few days into shore leave, and Scotty had been to a sheep-shearing festival on another world, had drunkenly visited Jack in Cardiff, and now... Well, now it was time to visit the planet they'd actually stopped off at. And hell, he thought, why not invite Jack along? So he'd called back to the ship to get them beamed aboard, and had gone back to ( Read more... )

Jack did notice the pink, but he didn't connect it to anything other than the fact that Scotty had just been getting changed, and well. He could see why Scotty might be blushing after getting dressed in front of a mirror and all. Jack was hoping that he could convince Scotty not to be ashamed of his body, though. Or embarrassed of it. Regardless of what gender it chose to be. It was kind of odd, but you really could see Scotty's normal body showing through this female version of himself. Not in some sort of odd, man turned woman kind of way, but. There were recognizable characteristics that managed to translate over rather well, if you asked Jack about it ( ... )

It was kind of odd, seeing Jack so dressed down - not that Scotty was complaining. The other man practically made looking good in anything an art. Of course, Scotty looked pretty good in just about anything too, not that he was really aware of the fact. Where Jack was tan, though, he himself was pale, even in this body; his own natural complexion combined with the fact that he spent most of his time on the ship contributed to that. "Aye," he answered, when Jack asked him if everything was alright. "S'fine."

He turned his attention to the bag he'd been packing up; he didn't know how long he and Jack were planning on staying down on-planet, and really, if they forgot something they needed he could always just call up to the ship and have someone beam it down, but he figured it couldn't hurt to be as prepared as possible. So there were a couple of towels, both to lay out on the beach and to dry off should they decide to go swimming, a few snacks and a few bottles of water, sunblock... "I think we're all set. Ready t'beam down?"

Jack pulled a pair of sunglasses out of his shorts pocket and slid them on casually, with a grin at Scotty. He didn't really own much, and so things like towels or swimwear. What he did have was currently residing in a special corner of Ianto's closet, since his room at the Hub was currently down for the count, and mostly consisted of trousers, dress shirts, and braces, with a few waistcoats here and there. Aside from his undershirts and this one pair of shorts...that's really all there were.

"I'm ready when you are," he said, with a smirk. He was enjoying the idea of a vacation a great deal. Especially one on a beach. He'd grown up on a beach, and he missed it. Cardiff was on the water, but without the sand, it wasn't really the same.

Scotty did one last check through what he'd packed, making sure to grab his communicator, just in case. That seemed to be everything, though. "I'm ready. I'd offer t'race you down t'the transporter room, but I think I'll leave that sort o' thing t'the ensigns." He did offer his arm to Jack as he headed to the door; even if they ran into someone on their way down to the transporter room, it was doubtful they'd recognize him. "Just. Promise me you won't tease too much about what Uhura's picked for me t'wear, aye?"

Jack took his arm as they started out the door, although the comment about what Scotty was wearing did bring an eyebrow up in question. "I'll try to contain myself," Jack said, jovially, before sobering up a little. "Really, though. She seems like she's a woman of good taste. I bet that it isn't as bad as you're making it seem, whatever it is that she did choose for you. You're just not used to having to wear women's clothes is all." At least, that's what Jack figured. He didn't rightly know, seeing as how he had no idea what the said clothing that Uhura picked out for Scotty to wear was quite just yet.

It really wasn't that bad. He just knew that... Well, what he had on under the tshirt and shorts... Jack was either going to tease him or be endlessly amused by it, and he just knew there was going to be a lot of smirking involved. Not that he was letting it stop him, as evidenced by the fact that he was even going down on-planet with Jack in the first place. It wouldn't have been so bad, really, except that he seemed to have gotten a head start on the blushing end of things. He was pretty sure Jack was supposed to tease him before he started turning red, but his face apparently had other ideas.

At least they made it to the transporter room quickly enough. Scotty had already looked over a map of the planet, and there was one continent in a sub-tropical region that seemed to be a favorite for everyone going down planetside, so he figured that was where he and Jack would go; he had picked out a spot along the shoreline a few miles down from where most of the rest of the crew had chosen to land.

Jack made his way through the hallways with Scotty, grinning at the people who shot him a look, winking at most of them as well. Jack was absolutely unashamed of the fact that he looked pretty good dressed the way he was, and that Scotty, even if they didn't recognize who he was, was quite obviously bright red and therefore something was up. Jack was enjoying every minute of that blush there, though he hoped that Scotty wasn't embarrassed, and more just... Preemptively flushed about how promising this mini vacation of theirs could be.

Moving to stand on the transporter pad, Jack shot a wink at Scotty this time, sticking his hands in his pockets and rocking on his feet. Oh, they were going to have a lot of fun with this. "Ready when you are," he said, with a grin.

Scotty tossed the bag to Jack and went to set up the transporter, putting it on a timer since no one else was in there to beam the two of them down. Considering where they were beaming down, that was perfectly fine by him; the last thing he wanted to see was some transporter tech smirking knowingly at him, even if they didn't realize who he was.

In a matter of moments, he and Jack were off the ship and on-planet, landing on the beach a few meters away from the water. The sun was high in the sky overhead, and it was quiet, except for the breeze and the sound of the ocean. "Well. Here we are, then."

Jack caught the bag, smirking at Scotty as he set up the right coordinates, standing back and letting the other do all the work before he was joined and the two of them quickly found themselves planetside.

At the sound of the ocean and the feel of the breeze off of it, Jack was hit with such a wave of nostalgia it almost had him staggering for a moment. Almost. Boeshane was a long way off and far, far away from where they were, and it certainly wasn't tropical, but the sand and the beach were all that it took, really. Jack just stood looking out at the ocean for a moment, watching the waves and being lost in his own nostalgia. He unconsciously hoped that it wouldn't be too obvious that he was zoning out at the ocean, but. It was hard not to, considering.

Scotty watched Jack a moment before busying himself getting things all set up; he left Jack to stare out at the ocean while he laid out a few towels on the sand. That was about the extent of what needed to be done, though, and once it was done, Scotty moved to stand next to Jack, looking out over the water. He didn't want to intrude on whatever was going through Jack's mind in that moment, so although he stood close enough that he could easily lean in a bit and get an arm around Jack's waist, he kept his hands to himself. For now.

Jack stood watching the ocean for a few moments more, before turning and looking down at Scotty (god, the height difference really was kinda cute), smiling at him. "Well. Here we are," he said, coming back to the here and now. "It's probably the first vacation I've had in...a very, very long time. And I can't imagine that you've done much vacationing either, so." He laughed. "What'd you like to do first, then?" he asked. He nodded toward the ocean that he'd been staring at for the last while. "...we could go for a swim," he said, with a smirk.

There wasn't really much that Scotty had planned to do. Jack was right, he didn't do much vacationing, and really what downtime he usually had he used to catch up on the latest engineering news. He didn't really ever just sit and relax by doing nothing. So Jack's suggestion of going for a swim was as good as any suggestions he'd be able to come up with himself, except... "I... don't exactly know how t'swim." That wasn't really a problem, considering they were on a beach, and he was still planning on spending at least a little bit of time in the water.

Really, he was just stalling, because he was pretty sure he was turning red again just thinking about stripping down to go swimming, but... Hell, he might as well get it over with and get the smirking and teasing out of the way. Trying not to think about it too much, he pulled off the tshirt and the shorts and tossed them aside, revealing the bikini Uhura had thoughtfully given him to wear.

Jack smiled pleasantly at Scotty at his admission that he couldn't swim, pleased that the other had at least the sense to tell him as much before he decided to try and...who knows, throw Scotty out into the ocean, or something. Not that he would, but. It was good to know. "It's alright," he said. "I grew up on a beach. I'll keep an eye on you."

As Scotty pulled off the shirt and the shorts that he was wearing to reveal not only the bikini that he was wearing, but also the honestly pretty smoking body that he'd been gifted with as a female, Jack whistled slightly. "Oh yeah," he said, with a grin. "Definitely keeping an close eye on you today, that's for sure."

"So good t'know you've got my personal safety in mind," Scotty replied, fairly certain that by now, he was about as red as the uniform he'd left back on the ship. But he couldn't exactly blame Jack for looking. Hell, he'd spent some time just standing in front of a mirror and, well. Whether it was the community or Eris that had done this to him, he had to admit that this body was pretty damn attractive. And really, if he didn't want Jack looking, he'd have kept the tshirt and shorts on.

Jack grinned wide, his teeth flashing incredibly white in the sunlight. "Believe me, Scotty, I've nothing but your best assets and interests in mind," he said, before moving to grip his shirt by the hem, tugging it up and over his head and tossing it down on the towel beside them. Jack didn't have swim trunks, per se, so these shorts that he was wearing would have to do. He wasn't going to push the envelope that much and swim naked. Not at this step in the game, at least.

He turned back to Scotty with a grin. "You gonna need sunblock?" he asked, and he really wasn't asking just so he could get his hands on the other. Scotty was pretty fair and pale and if spending time with Ianto was anything to go by, he'd be permanently the same color that he was flushing if he didn't put at least something on for protection against the light.

Yes, he was going to need sunblock, which was why he'd brought some along - and yes, he was going to need help putting it on, because he couldn't exactly reach his back. And, once again, if he was opposed to Jack helping him, he would've kept the shirt on. He knelt down to dig the bottle out of the back, and tossed it to Jack, before standing up again. "Mind doin' my back for me?" he asked, as if there was any doubt what the answer to that would be.
