...If you squint hard enough, in the far upper left corner, you can almost see us stranded in our apartment. We were up at 2:30 in hopes of gas trucks having refueled stations by now.
"Where is the gas? I had none." (Weebl & Bob would understand this kind of thing.)
Yesterday's journey started promptly at noon... By 4:30 we'd made it 40 miles, and recieved a call from a co-worker that they had made it a little farther (having started at 6 am), but almost ran out of gas and had to return home... Having used almost 1/2 tank going that 40 miles, we didn't see any hope of making it to Dallas either, and we're afraid of being stranded in our car without shelter with Rita blows in.
All gas stations- empty. All hotels northward- full. Cars were being abandoned on all roads, broken down, out of gas, and overheated. We were NOT prepared to stay, so we're going to do the best we can with what we have and stay at Jasons parents house here... To all our friends in the Houston area, we're praying for you, thinking of you, and wish you safety. **Godspeed**
